No signage is allowed by the government but word of mouth from everyone we talked to said you have to try "The Point". You will be pleasantly surprised. After watching boats from the US and Canada lock thru we crossed the white bridge and walked about 400 feet and there she was. We first noticed the restaurant had an all wood atmosphere with comfortable captains chairs and a view of the wilderness outside the wall to wall windows. Our waitress came and she was very nice and friendly. A young woman "Christina" working to help support her children and Mr. Right. You can't help but like this beautiful person. Our order was taken and in a few minutes I had the best restaurant breakfast I have had in a long long time. Two eggs over easy, sausages, brown toast buttered just right, tomato slices instead of home fries bottomless coffee all for seven bucks. The trip to see the big boats going thru the locks and this relaxing restaurant with friendly service was well worth the trip. We highly recommend it and are happy we dug a little deeper and didn't listen to the negative comments. As we said a 180 degree turn to the good. Don't miss out.
Terrible service terrible food and over priced...owner is rude and drop hot food on you and laughs ...good thing they no longer are there
Five of us went out for our usual Sunday breakfast and we decided to try Granny's again as we had not been here for a couple of years. Nothing has really changed. Good service and food. Loved the fact there is a senior menu to choose from. Washroom was very clean. Thank you very much.
We were 5 guests...Local residents1xHot Turkey Sandwich. Terrible. Expected sliced turkey but got little cubes of nondescript tasting meat that had the texture of turkey and taste of tofu. Looked like it came from a can of dog-food 2x) Greek Salad with added Chicken. Salad was mediocre but the chicken 'breast' was absolutely disgusting. No flavour and pale white with a rubbery texture. Inedible, spat it out. Was not even sure it was chicken...2x) Hamburger and fries - meat patties looked good but both were described as 'funny' or 'off' tasting. Both burgers half eaten, too off-putting to finish, wrapped up and given to the dog, who eventually did eat the remains....but not eagerly. Overall, we all left profoundly disappointed. Thought about having a slice of pie...but our expectations were so low at this point, we thought we'd hav better luck with one from the IGA....
This was our second visit to Granny's, the first time we had breakfast this time lunch. Food was fast, fresh & good as expected. My Husband had the clubhouse I had fish & chips, on special, both were good & hot. My meal came with a strawberry salad, feta cheese & vinaigrette dressing, delicious! We overheard the owner speaking to the table next to us informing them of smaller seniors portions which is thoughtful of them to offer & also that they have frozen meals prepared for take home. As we are in the midst of renos we decided to purchase a couple of meals to take home, so far we have eaten the manicotti which was certainly better than anything you would buy frozen at the grocery store! Overall we had a good experience & will certainly return.
