The Thirsty Loon - Lakefield

We had a great time enjoying our lunch and beer at this restaurant. The staff was very friendly. Although there was an outside patio available, we chose to sit inside since it was a hot day. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. We would definitely come back again!

We attempted to have lunch here recently. Weather was great for patio and this one was almost full. I spoke to a server to see if putting two tables together was possible. She was less than polite in fact downright rude. Some customers overheard and offered their table as they were leaving. When the customers are more accommodating than the staff something is wrong. This is not the first time a server at this place has been rude. Despite the decent food we will not go back again. I'd rather support a restaurant that appreciates the business. We went to the Canoe. Never disappointed there yet!

This was our second choice after the poor service at the competitor "Canoe and Paddle" ... it was half-price WING NIGHT - 3 lbs. of wings - your choice of sauce - for $15; with drinks and fries and mushroom caps, our total bill was less than $60 for 4 adults! Nice their service was friendly, prompt, and the food was phenomenal! We'll be back ... got to see the 3rd period of hockey as well. A nice touch after having attended Lakefield College School's production of Rumours. Great evening in the little Village.

Food is pub-style. Menu items are limited but good. Late night menu is extremely limited and not very accommodating for late arrivals. Service is average. Children are permitted. Decor could be updated. Relatively clean. Staff are very friendly, informative and very accommodating.

My husband and I went out for lunch to enjoy the nice weather so we thought that the patio would be a nice treat! We had our baby with us (almost 4 months old). The server was very nice and let us have the car seat on the table as we sat at a table for four since we had our daughter. We started with the deep fried pickles! Best we have ever had! They must be made fresh since we have never had any that big and crispy before! The breading was perfect. My husband got a burger and salad and I enjoyed the wrap and salad! The side salads were huge and the burger and wrap as well! The burger bun seemed freshly made and was very nice! The roasted veggie wrap with goat cheese was amazing! Perfectly cooked veggies and super filling. The wrap was stuffed full. The side salads had plenty of toppings on them which is nice! Some places skimp on the bacon (for the Caesar) or the feta ( for the Greek) but not here!There were many other menu items we wanted to try! Nice sized menu with lots to offer! We will be back!
