Cafe Roti - Lakeland

My wife and I decided to have a late lunch on a Saturday and chose to try Cafe Roti. Unfortunately, our visit was very disappointing. The lunch menu offers six options for protein and a couple of appetizers to choose from. We started with the veggie samosas, which were missing peas and carrots, a disappointment for this dish. My wife ordered the chicken korma and I had the chicken curry. We have eaten at many Indian restaurants across the country, but this experience was the worst. Both dishes tasted like they came from a jar from the grocery store - bland and lacking originality. It seems like the kitchen staff may not have mastered Indian cuisine. While I don't like to leave negative reviews, this dining experience missed the mark in so many ways that I had to be honest.

I was extremely disappointed with my dining experience. The curries were bland and watery, while the rice and naan were hard. The portions of naan were also very small and thin. I will not be returning to this restaurant. I hope they can improve the quality of their food.

As someone who is familiar with desi cuisine, I had high expectations for the food at this restaurant. Unfortunately, the dishes fell short of my homemade creations in terms of taste and quality. However, the waitress provided excellent service and was attentive despite handling multiple orders. Although the food was underwhelming and not worth the price, the waitress's exceptional service was a highlight of the dining experience.

We had really looked forward to trying Cafe Roti based on the reviews, but when we arrived this afternoon we were told we could only order take out since they were closing at 2 PM. Disappointed, we left, assuming it was already past 2 only to check our watch and find that it was only 1:43 PM. Never had a restaurant turn away paying customers during advertised business hours.

A totally unexpected and surprisingly outstanding and authentic Indian cuisine smack dab in the middle of Lakeland! Highly recommended ?
