I had the Patty Melt with onion rings; it was a very large order of onion rings (the dough was very slightly crispy and the rings were cut and extra thick)! Soooo good! The marble roast was roasted and the Patty Melt came with grilled onions. FABULOUS?
Fantastic local homecooking best. With friends and from the three meals all were perfect. Country roasted steak is my weakness, perfectly cooked, asked for engraving on the page. Can not give higher praise to the meat dew. Perfection and turkey flour with mash potatoes, engraving and filling. All homemade. It's easy to see why this restaurant was so long. Oh, and definitely try the sweet potato cake. The best I ever had.
At this point, which has been here for a long time, everything is homemade! I had the original Reese cliffs Hamburger with the works it was tasty. My wife had a chopped Sirloin steak with potatoes smeared green and roasted Okra everything was fresh from the kitchen! We had no room for their homemade cakes so we had to take the house. They make their own batteries for their onion rings I had with my burger, they were humble, they were a meal in themselves. We didn't have a room for dessert, but we took a few pieces of apple cake back freshened looks fabulous when it tastes like the meal we'll be in the sky with our apple cake ala mode tonight in our house! There are many parking lots here the staff was very friendly and professional if you have never been here before it is your time to come and experience the old time charm and taste of this location.
I always liked to go to this restaurant with my family. We were regular customers and always enjoyed the good food and friendly atmosphere. In recent years, the quality of customer service has declined significantly. In the past, I have tried several times to pass an order for pick-up, people either refuse to answer the phone to various waiters, because they do not want to order. Today I called an order, and the person who answered tried to say they couldn't hear me and tried to hang on me. Then they told me to wait a minute that turned into more than 5 minutes. The telephone receiver was left on the counter, so here you have a background conversation, the discussion about who wanted to take the call (no, who wanted to respond in particular). I hung the phone. Honestly, I had this rude behavior that has been fed lately or picking up an order. Not particularly friendly and treated like another number on a list of customers. It is a shame that a restaurant to which my family loved to go no longer offers quality service and my family and I will not go here anymore, but I appreciate the dear memories.
A friend and I dined here today 10/19/2021 for lunch. I was very impressed with the meal I ordered. I ordered the Tuesday Special Country Fried Chicken smothered in White Pepper Gravy, served with three sides and fresh baked bread. I chose Mashed Potatoes with White Pepper Gravy, Green Beans, Onion Rings and a Corn Bread Muffin. The food was absolutely outstanding, one of a kind. The meal had a Gourmet style, quality and taste. The Onion Rings were possibly the best I have ever had, the batter had a Waffle Like Flavor. The Sweet Iced Tea was perfect and the Chocolate Cream Pie with Whipped Cream for dessert was very delicious. Lee our waitress was very welcoming, friendly and informative. Lee informed us of all the flavors of Pie offered, without reading the choices, she had them memorized. She asked us how our food was, within one minute of serving us and constantly kept our Sweet Iced Tea's replenished. A very nice Vintage, one of a kind restaurant. Highly Recommend! We will return.
