Steak 'n Shake - Lakeland

During the few times I've visited this restaurant, I've found the staff to be very friendly and attentive with my orders. The line moves quickly, although it does get busy on weekends.

Surprisingly, I visit this place quite often because it's conveniently located halfway between my house and work, and it's open late. However, I am rarely satisfied with my experience. No matter the time of day or how many cars are in front of me, there always seems to be a long wait. For instance, I was just there recently, waiting at the menu board with only one car ahead of me at the payment window. I waited for four minutes without anyone coming over the intercom to take my order. This isn't the first time something similar has happened. Occasionally, but not as often as I would hope, I'm pleased with the taste of my food. However, the service is almost always incredibly slow and unprofessional.

It's totally messed up. 1 Burger, from 3 was almost right. The chili cheeseries consisted of a semi-filled large fries container (the height of the frits were BELOW the front, lower opening of the frits container), No, they did not pour out in the bag, the container that should have the chili cheese in it, had a light cover of chili in the bottom of it, and there was a small container of cheese. I have to build the big pommes with about 1/4 of the required ingredients myself. And two burgers had nothing but cheese and mayonnaise. And they expect $15/hr in Florida?

All the employees in the drive thru are very professional and kind. The order went smoothly. They even have a nice new outdoor area to eat. The food was made neatly and very yummy. The only reason why I did not give them 5 stars was because they did not do the tamper sealed bags as advertised and they forgot BBQ sauce for the chicken.
