Harry's Cafe - Lakeville

The service definitely needs improvement. I was taken aback by several issues I encountered with our server during our visit tonight. She failed to clear away empty bottles, glasses, and other items from our table. Our water glasses were randomly placed in the center, requiring us to rearrange them ourselves. Additionally, she chose to let the men order first, rather than courteously inviting the women to place their orders first. While the food was enjoyable, there seemed to be a significant disconnect between the restaurant's branding and ambiance and the service provided. The person responsible for overseeing the servers really needs to provide better training. Women should be prioritized when ordering, and clearing empty items from the table should be a basic expectation. This isn’t difficult to execute, and many other establishments do it much better. I would recommend seeking out a restaurant that offers both excellent food and quality service—there are plenty out there.

We entered the restaurant and encountered a waitress who was quite smug and openly displayed her disdain. This was rather off-putting, especially since we were traveling and dressed casually—though still presentably. There was no justification for her attitude, and we barely had time to settle in before the unpleasant interaction began. On a positive note, the food was good, but the portion sizes were smaller than we had anticipated. Overall, we dined in.

I really like the makeover they gave the place. The service was good. Unfortunately, I ordered the walleye sandwich, which arrived cold and overcooked. The truffle fries were undercooked and greasy. Honestly, I would have preferred a Filet-o-Fish instead. Overall, I would rate the food a 1, the service a 4, and the atmosphere a 5.
