On top of an excellent meal you can get into fascinating converstions about cultural history, politics, food and more with your charming host.Antonio and his wife really made us feel the wholehearted and warm hospitality of this region. You guys are amazing!Lots of love and see you next summer!Mimmi & Ukko
Delicious food, great atmosphere and wonderful hosts. We enjoyed all of the food however the chocolate brownie was to die for. Views over the city were great especially with sunset and the hosts pointed out key points in the town and even gave us a brief history of some of the landmarks. Really relaxed and chilled evening.
We had lunch here and enjoyed the view. Antonio was very friendly and the food was good. Slightly surprised at the prices as it is a little higher than usual. There is no menu so you don't actually know until the end which is not ideal. Antonio immediately brought a ham plate which was good if a little pricy at 12€ the hake salad was delightful but again at 24€ a lot more than the other places we have visited during our stay. Dessert for me was orange slices and cinnamon my husband had ice cream and chocolate sauce at 8€. So to summarise very pleasant hosts, good good if a little over priced.
We came to this place because we found it on Tripadvisor. Wouldn't have probably found it any other way. It's in a residential area at the end of a street and you wouldn't know it's a restaurant unless you do. The new owner has been renting the property for a year now and is refurbishing the place. The pool was not in use but the terrace and the garden are very nice and the view of Lamego is fantastic. You can see all the highlights and the owner tallked us through what we could do after lunch. For lunch we had tuna and pork stew, tuna was ok but the stew was very good with rice. Probably best to take a local dish here, especially off-season. There were sausages as a starter, veg/chicken soup and for desert we had pineapple with hot port dressing (nice!) and cake. Since the famous Raposeira factory is only a throw away, we had to have a bottle of this espumante with the lunch. This is a very good place to start your tour of Lamengo and the owner is a great guy who speaks English fluently.
Great food, great view and very very friendly people! If you want to spend a great evening in an atmosphere like being invited at a friend's house then you are here absolutely right!
