Over the years, there hasn 't been a real Jamaican food place in the area to rival even the memory of The Breeze, which had been gone for a minute. Now that it 's back with the same authentic, delicious, grub as in the past I 'll be there often. They also have a nice outside seating area too that I can 't wait to enjoy come Spring! Yea Mon!
Stop! You'll be missing out on some really good food if you don't stop. The Caribbean pies are to die for, best since we've had them in the islands, in the warmer case on what looks like an old bar, plenty of parking to the side, close to Rt 30 if you're passing thru. We also got 2 jerk chicken seasoned just right, large, 2 sides, and weighing in at a ton per container. We went with the plantains, sweet naturally, not overwhelmed in a glaze along with a small serving of cabbage/carrot seasoned lightly as our second side. We had more than enough chicken for 2 meals. Please do not expect to see green peas in the rice and peas. This place also has coco bread which someone from the islands told me--if they have coco bread, then it's authentic food. The lady at the counter will answer any questions if you are not familiar with the foods. We are returning soon for goat. Remember that good food takes time to prepare. This is not a drive thru window joint. It's dining not eating.
Caribbean Breeze is good simple Jamaican food at a reasonable price. We dined in and ordered: Medium jerk chicken plate with rice and peas and cabbage Medium curry chicken plate with mac and cheese and plantains We had planned on also ordering some patties, but they were out at the time (we went for late dinner) The chicken was very tender and flavorful, and the sides were great too. I highly recommend checking this place out if you like Jamaican food, or want to try something new. I am excited to go back and try some more unique dishes like oxtail or goat and sit outdoors. The staff was very helpful and was able to answer any questions we had about the menu including an allergy question. I am allergic to milk and she said that they don't cook with any butter or milk (other than mac and cheese) because they have intolerances.
Would not give this restaurant even a one star but you have to leave at least that. called in an order for fried chicken was told it would take 45 minutes also told 4 pieces of chicken 2 sides when we picked up the order we each Had one small leg and 1 small thigh the vegetables that came with the order were hard and crunchy the macaroni and cheese looked like it was a child size portion very disappointed for $10 that I spent for each 1 equaling $20. I could have went to KFC and got a whole bucket and sides for that price and it would have been better.
Just had supper here...while we waited we were treated to some Christmas cake, Jamaican styleand it was delicious!! Had the jerk chicken, peas rice, and cabbage which was AWESOME! It wasn 't 'knock you out hot and spicy ' jerk either it was spiced just perfectly. If you haven 't eaten here yet: GO! Lovely hostess, great service, nice friendly place. A+
