I 've been in search for some really good down home fried fish as I remember from back home and I 've finally found it here at Hunnicutt 's Cafe. The seasoning on the fish is bussin . The fillets are big and very crispy. Not too greasy. Light and fluffy and cooked to perfection. As I waited in line the lady in front of me recommended the cornbread. I added it to my order based off of her recommendation and I was not disappointed. This is my new soul food spot. I absolutely love it!!!
Spent $53 for two plates that seemed old. Nothing tasted fresh including turkey wing oxtail
The food is under seasoned. The mixed vegetables were overcooked, so they were like mush. Their cornbread is sweet, so that's disappointing. I dont like cake for bread . I don't think the cooks are tasting their food that their putting out. The service was fine but will not go back.
I was excited to try this place but the excitement was quickly turned into disappointment. The food was NOT seasoned at all. The gravy tasted burned. This should not be called soul food. There was a problem with everything I
Sorry, but the place was not busy and they were practically out of everything… the restaurant wasn’t very clean for there to only be one customer there… The food had no taste/seasoning at all… We had the chicken tetrazzini (it was dry, the noodle were stuck together and the chicken was not visible nor did it have any seasoning or taste) the mash potatoes are instant with no seasoning at all, the mac cheese was cheesy with no seasoning at all… sorry but you all need to taste your food before you serve it, the food was not cook with any soul put in it… (as I was leaving a customer was bringing their food back)
