I decided to stop and grab a takeaway coffee, but ended up staying for the best full English breakfast. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly, and they served Illy coffee in a cozy atmosphere with a log burner. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning.
The Corned Beef Hash was overly seasoned with black pepper. At £9, it was not worth the price. The staff were friendly, but the food was disappointing. The cake was decent. Parking is available on the street.
I just enjoyed the most delicious fruit scone and pea and mint soup for £6.95 at this restaurant! The food was fantastic and fresh, and I had to write this review to share my positive experience. The service was very warm and attentive, and the cozy atmosphere with the open fire made for a delightful meal. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!
Lovely cosy tearoom and gift shop.Really enjoyed good coffee, toasted sandwiches, pastie with peas and gravy and delicious homemade soup.Definitely recommend.
I can only echo the experience of others that were dealt the unfortunate reception of the member of staff in the kitchen. We asked if it was still early enough to order lunch and was told: yes . Then, another member of staff proceeded to take our order at which point we were greeted with a display of gesticulations (arms waving), huffing, expressions of displeasure and inconvenience (head shaking and frowning) at our simple order: a toasted sandwich and jacket potato. The member of staff serving us even interjecting to her what is the problem ? We then paid (an extortionate price I may add) and sat down. Said member of staff then brings the food out (sandwich burnt), slaps it down in front of me as she says right, there you go whilst she then walks off. It was clear however whilst observing that this was not her just having a bad day or her general manner. As the locals came and went from the shop to collect parcels etc, she was a completely different person: smiling, making conversion and displaying nice human emotion. Yet, for some reason from the moment of stepping in, we were treated like dirt. Maybe this was just a local shop for local people...If you know, you know. Do not spend your hard earned money in this place, go into Lancaster instead and be treated like a human being, at a reasonable price. What a disgusting experience.
