Contribuisci feedbackFrom the Fundus (May 2016 back restaurant visits “short and scarce” part II The restaurant on the homepage “The scenery event Langeoogs, the “beach hall”. Here you can enjoy the most beautiful views at lunch or dinner, with a view of the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site and the neighbouring islands. The view is particularly great during sunset – here young and old meet to see the sun sinking in the sea during a Sundowner cocktail.” The view of the sunset made my wife and me visit the place. It was a wonderful sunny day, which we had to finish and eat. Even if we were rather satisfied at the beginning of the food there, but later rather disappointed, we wanted to give the kitchen a chance again. We found space on the terrace, with views of the sea. You have the choice between low lounge furniture or high wood standing tables with benches and stools The menu and drink card was handed to us with the remark that today there is only one steakbuffet for 28,90 and in addition only the Pasta beach hall or a fish dish (I no longer know what from the map. We ordered: 1 Glas Grauburgunder 6,20 € 0.5 Hasseröder 4,80 As dishes 1x the pasta and 1 x the steakbuffett. I went to the place where a larger appetizer buffet was built, that would have been something for my wife, but it wasn't communicated accordingly, I didn't find Steaks and my corresponding question was answered by the fact that I had to order them on the terrace and bring them. The appetizer and a dessert buffet would be included. So I was looking for some fish dishes and seafood from the appetizers, unfortunately some plates already looked a bit rampant. In addition, there were some salads, vegetables and some meat appetizers such as marinated chicken spits. Although the appetizers are diverse, unfortunately I couldn't really convince myself. The steaks, optionally Rump or Huftsteaks, were then cut as a tiny Rumpsteak almost 100 grams thin during the first order and therefore almost fried and at 2. Calling as 2 small, quite tough, throughgrown hoof steaks of different thickness also from medium to almost rare. There were frozen potato columns and some herbal butter. Since I would have expected better quality from the meat, every grill festival in the Kleingartenverein has better to offer. After that, I looked again after the desserts, this in a glass of Hipp size, such as a chocolate mousse or red grape. Tastefully at best canteen level. The whole thing for € 28,90 to get rich will be costly in the frame, if you go to the buffet more often and do not hesitate to order a third gear steaks. The pasta beach hall with crabs, onions, herbs, garlic and cream at a very proud price of € 17,20 is rather small, the crabs can be overlooked and priced totally covered, tastefully okay but also no longer. 2 espresso were added to each for proud 2,70 € Conclusion: Even if it's more expensive on the island, you'll also pay for the beautiful view, the place fills itself as the only one on the promenade through this individual position and you don't have to convince qualitatively. Food can be made better at Langeoog in many places, and especially cheaper without having to make smears from the level. The operators, presumably seasonal workers, were diligent and friendly, but the leading serviceman seemed a little snucky. At the next visit, if it takes place, we will certainly take a distance from the food and at best let the sunset work on us with a cocktail or beer. The assessment refers only to the external gas economy. Conclusion after a kitchen trip a 3 – if it results again, but then only for a drink (1 – certainly not again, 2 – hardly again, 3 – if it results again, 4 – happy again, 5 – absolutely again after a kitchen trip
Good food and card. Modern style look and the most beatifull view of all restaurants of the island. The waiter (probably the manager) is strange (very strait forward, cheeky) I think it is a hit.
Hotel Strandhalle is a lovely hotel with a top- notch restaurant. I would say the restaurant is the hotel's best feature. It has wonderful food and a lovely view over the water. And the rooms were comfortable enough. The biggest drawback for me was the lack of elevator. I traveled with family members, and we are all in our 60's. We are traveling for a few weeks, so we had one large suit case and one small suitcase each, as well as a couple little articles (camera cases, etc.). Our rooms were on the third floor. With no elevator, and absolutely no one to help with the luggage, it was a struggle to get everything upstairs. Since the hotel is new, not built into an old building as so many are, I can't see any reason why there couldn't be an elevator. And there are steps everywhere on the ground floor. That was no problem for us, but for the elderly or wheelchair-bound, this hotel is impossible. I also found it a bit pricey. And there was one misunderstanding on my part. Perhaps I did not read or understand the hotel's website, but I reserved a garage for 9 euros a night because I thought that was the only way to obtain parking at the hotel. But the hotel has a free parking lot, the fee was for an actual garage, which we didn't need. The staff was courteous but "distant" - this was not a place to get a lot of personal attention.
