Service was fine but nothing to rave about.Place is quirk but dated and tired looking. No specials and boring menu.Ordered seafood.3 of us had swordfish which was burnt looking and tasted old.Not off but slightly ammonia flavour.Definitely not fresh. My chickpea spinach capsicum base was swimming in oil and tasteless. My sons flathead fillets and chips tasted very fishy and once again not fresh.Paid over $120 for rubbish food.Went home and had some decent food.Sorry their chips that we ordered to help fill us up after we saw our meals were good. They were the only positive thing of the whole meal.Very disappointed and will never return.
After hearing there were new owners we decided to give it a go!Well not sure what's quite going on but they need some work. Menu looks impressive and they've (almost) tried to look as though they're offering fine dining by adding all sides as seperate orders. However thats where it ended. While wait staff were very personable their lack of English skills made getting a basic drink order difficult and took ages.We then ordered dinners. Six of us and five different meals .All were pleasant and tasty but those that were grilled were indeed char grilled and tasted burnt. Fish was overcooked. Went to order dessert and when asked for coffee waiter informed us they had no milk.Sorry guys have a supply of UHT on hand, you are a restaurant not a bar!One poor member of our party was unable to have the entree/main/dessert she chose as they were sold out. So all choices were second.Wine was good, plenty of beer choices and most meals were delicious.Sadly until they spend a little more time perfecting menu and service it won't marry up to your expectations. Was really hoping we could find a new spot but its not a lot better than the pub at this point.
Ideal for a quiet lunch for 2 or celebrating any occasion. The staff are amazing and the food is top noch.
We went for dinner with friends on a Saturday night for 7pm. Arriving at the location was lovely and the restaurant was decorated with fairy lights and we thought it would be busy however, there were only 3 other tables occupied. The open fire was great, the staff kept hovering until we finally put our orders in, there was no time to enjoy a drink. Meals came out extremely quick and what a disappointment. Two of us ordered the ribs and they came out stone cold and the bbq sauce on them was also cold, we sent them back thinking they would give us new plates however, they came out on the same plates - it was obvious they just put under a grill because the chips were shrivelled and burnt having recooked them twice. We ordered desert, Chocolate tarts with vanilla bean ice cream and raspberry coulis - another disappointment. Tiny tart shells which you can buy at coles or safeway filled with chocolate topping, terrible...... what was worse was by 9pm after the meal being so rushed instead of sitting to enjoy the fire the staff had let the fire go out so it was getting cold, we were not offered any more drinks instead they were wanting us to finish up so they could leave. From reading other reviews it seems there has been a change in ownership, management definitely have a lot of work to do.
