Vern's Place is the epitome of country cafe cooking. Located a few minutes West of the 287 Bypass in LaPort, Vern's has been a family tradition of those enjoying the Great Outdoors since 1946. The old western style wood exterior complete with carved Grizz
Fantastic fresh food in a very welcoming environment! I had a turkey and avocado sandwich with the slaw. As you can see in the photo there was a generous helping of turkey which was very juicy and tender. The vegetables on the sandwich were fresh and crisp and the slaw was quite tasty. I messed up and made the mistake of sitting inside but they have a wonderful outside seating area with a terrific view of the front range. So after that I had to sit outside and enjoy a beer for made my way. Service was attentive and friendly. There is also a small gift store attached to the main dining room which has a bakery in the back it’s supposedly has some really tasty stuff. I didn’t sample anything from the bakery but it smelled terrific.
