Unfortunately, not only did this so-called manager refuse to issue a refund unless I returned in person to have the sandwich thrown away, but she was also incredibly rude and dismissive, showing no accountability for the poor hygiene in the kitchen. A professional establishment would typically address customer complaints with empathy and take the necessary steps to make things right. Instead of offering understanding, this manager did the exact opposite—she refused to help, was extremely rude, and then hung up on me. Later, when I finally returned to the restaurant at the end of the day to return the sandwich (since they insisted I bring it back for a refund), the night shift manager was even more unpleasant than the woman I spoke with on the phone. When we entered and tried to explain our poor experience in order to obtain a refund, she immediately started shouting insults and pointing at us in a threatening manner. After verbally assaulting us in front of other customers, she snatched the receipt from my hand, ripping it in the process, and stormed off to issue the return without informing us of what she was doing. It took her about 15 minutes to process the refund, which should have only taken two minutes at most. When she finally returned, she insulted us again, this time in front of a new group of customers. I am truly appalled by the atrocious service this establishment seems to think they can get away with, perhaps because of their location in Marin, leading them to believe they’re entitled to this kind of behavior. They disrespected the wrong customer, and I’m pretty sure anyone hearing this story would think twice before dining there. This restaurant needs to be replaced with one that understands the importance of treating customers with respect and dignity, rather than showing discrimination, hostility, and charging excessive prices. They should be called the Barnshop instead of the Farmshop, as that would better represent the quality of service one can expect. This experience is a prime example of why places like Marin earn a reputation for being pretentious, rude, and entitled. A definite thumbs down!
During my recent visit with a group, we sampled a variety of menu items before ordering our main courses. The lemon pizza was a standout; it offered a unique flavor that wasn’t overpowering and paired well with the cheese. For my main dish, I chose the Angry Crab Rigatoni Nero. While I appreciated the spiciness, I found myself wishing it had a bit more heat, but that’s just my personal taste. Overall, I enjoyed it. One downside was their inability to remove the walnuts from the rigatoni, so I ended up picking them out. I might be biased, but I feel that walnuts in this dish were unnecessary. After the waiter noted they couldn’t accommodate my request, I realized that many of their dishes incorporate seeds and nuts more than you’d typically find in a restaurant. It almost felt like a challenge to see how many different ways they could include them in their dishes. In short, if you have a serious nut or seed allergy, your options here may be quite limited.
Everything I've tried here has been fantastic. From the vegan soup to the scallops, oysters, crabs, hummus, and guacamole, each dish is bursting with freshness. The pizzas also look delicious. The wine selection is impressive as well.
**Meal Type:** Dinner **Food:** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ **Service:** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ **Atmosphere:** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you're looking for a delightful dining experience, I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is exceptional, with a perfect score of 5. The Heirloom Tomato Salad, Burrata, Fairytale Eggplant Hummus, Tomatero Farms Roasted Beets, and Brussels Sprouts are must-try dishes that will leave your taste buds wanting more. The service is equally impressive, making you feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout your meal. The atmosphere is inviting and pleasant, creating the perfect backdrop for a relaxing dinner. Overall, this restaurant is a standout choice for an enjoyable evening out!
We lived in the Bay Area until 2019 and used to visit Farmshop frequently with our extended family. The atmosphere and service were excellent, but unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The fried chicken lacked flavor and the coating resembled that of a peanut M&M rather than a well-prepared fried chicken, which had been heavily promoted to us. The pizza dough was overly chewy, and the tomato salad didn't taste fresh. The vinaigrette for the oysters was excessively sweet and had an unusual watermelon flavor. The steak was also bland. It's such a pity.
