Instead, they offer straightforward, traditional donuts made with high-quality ingredients, achieving the perfect balance of sweetness, texture, and toppings. While they aren’t the cheapest option, their size makes up for it—one donut is enough to satisfy you, and it will definitely warm your heart. It's almost hard to believe that a donut shop like this exists in Larkspur. I will definitely stop by every time I pass through.
--- A review by @amom2kidsandapark Have you ever had a doughnut that you can’t stop thinking about for days, weeks, or even months? That’s how I feel about Johnny Doughnut! With three locations—Rafael, San Francisco, and the one we visited in Larkspur—you’ll find yourself facing a tough choice when you reach the window: which one should you choose? We definitely couldn’t settle on just one; between the three of us, we ended up with about seven! My absolute favorite, which has been haunting my dreams, is the crodough. It’s their take on a cronut (though they can’t use that name due to some regulations). It’s crispy and sugary on the outside, while the inside is soft, layered, and filled with little pockets of custard. OH. MY. GOSH! We also tried several other delicious options that we tried to share, including the apple fritter, the old-fashioned doughnut, and a few flavors of the Bismark filled with wild berry jam or chocolate vanilla cream. And here's some good news: they offer a vegan doughnut and a wheat-free option too! I even overheard someone mention you could get the custard filling in a cup if you somehow prefer it without the amazing crodough. Don't forget to grab your favorite beverage to accompany your treat. I love that this local business sources ingredients from other local companies such as @centralmilling, @clover.sonoma, @msp_petaluma, and @equatorcoffees. Keep up the great work, @johnnydoughnuts! --- Hope you enjoy this new version!
What a wild experience! I absolutely loved it! We tried the donut with maple syrup glaze and bacon, and it was incredible—BACON! It was so tasty! The donut was huge, so we decided to split one, and it was plenty for both of us. They also serve great coffee. I highly recommend you check it out!
Yay! Got a doughnut cake for my son's birthday party! It was tasty and looked beautiful on the table. frosting got hard and fell off in pieces when we cut it. So I recommend it stay covered if not eating right away.
An evaluation of the @amom2kidsandapark, which they have ever had a donut and cannot stop thinking about for days, weeks, months, later?! johnny doughnut has done this to me. there are three standing rafael, san francisco, and those we visit in larkspur. when they come to the window, they are confronted with the dilemma, “what I get and I just get one?” we could not just one. about the three of us we have like 7 whores my favorit and the ones I had dreamed of, there is the krodit, in the floor their version of the cronuts, but they can not use this name or whatever. it is crispy and in sugar and edible on the outside, soft and layered on the inside, and filled with small columns of the pumpkin. oh, no! other favorites that we tried and tried to share were the apfelsitter, the old fashion, and a few aromes of the brand (filled with wild berry jam or chocolate vanilla.
