Orden Del Cachorro

The Orden del Cachorro is a quaint bar and eatery in the sheltered corner of Vegueta, Las Palmas Old Town. Ask for Santo Domingo and anyone can direct you there. It is not google mapped, alas! Why? Perhaps because this homely establishment takes visitors back in time to a more family-oriented era when it was a treat just to make music and enjoy a good meal in pleasant company. In fact, the Canary food is well-prepared and the service is efficient though a little sleepy. You might mistake this place for someone's ample living room. It is family oriented. There is a sort of house band doing Canary traditional folk songs and even dances at one end of the dining area. The Canary bands generally include quite an array of musicians and singers. There is also a dance troop but they do not have much room to move. One of the most popular local dances, the folia, actually requires that the dance partners do NOT touch each other. In this confined space, the dancers have a chore trying to observe these sorts of rules. But it is all good fun and a marvelous, endearing atmosphere. Highly recommended on a Friday or Saturday evening. I think the music starts at 9 but you can probably get more info from the restaurant's web site. The food and drink is very reasonable.

Cada jueves a eso de las 20:30 h ensaya un grupo de boleros así que además de comer y beber bien pueden escuchar gratuitamente un grupazo tocando boleros Cada jueves Menos el primer jueves del mes

El lugar es maravilloso, lástima de los que llevan la cantina del lugar. Un pésimo servicio, dejando un evento sin posibilidad de beber o comer en este sábado donde se ofrecía un concierto del mejor cantautor canario Luis Quintana . Una orden que entiendo que debería potenciar la continuidad de lo nuestro a los más jóvenes. Deberían tomar medidas en cuanto a quien dan la gestión del bar.
