Vegan options were little, so I had rice and peas, brown dahl and a cabbage dish. I found the brown Dahl watery and oversalted, and the cabbage bowl very greasy and much too hot. I always had to drink water because my food was so spicy. Overall, this restaurant has a beautiful ambience (e.g. black galaxy granite in floors and toilets), but very mediocre food.
I am a Vegas resident my whole life and a vegan for a little over 2 years, and this is the only Indian restaurant I would recommend other than India Oven in Las Vegas. The waiter is very professional and treats his regular guests and new comedians with respect. You answer all the questions you have and are ready to make changes to your menu item when you are vegan. You have the best pakora in the city hands down and the rebuilding makes a beautiful place to impress a date or customer you try. Check out the lunch buffet 11:30-2 daily if you are new Indian cuisine.
This restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy a vegetarian meal with a little spice. The menu features authentic, meatless Indian dishes that are both unique and delicious. One standout dish is the Dal soup, a lentil-based soup with basil and other spices that are sure to warm you up. While the menu is mostly vegetarian, there are also a few meat dishes available, so be sure to read the ingredients if you're unfamiliar with Indian cuisine. The Paneer Pakora is a must-try appetizer made with fried cottage cheese, and other appetizers include vegetable fritters and samosas. The restaurant also offers Tandoori specialties and kebabs, but the extensive vegetarian entree selection is what sets it apart. The mixed vegetables, seasoned with herbs and spices, are especially flavorful. Overall, this restaurant offers a unique culinary experience for vegetarians looking to try something new.
The restaurant has a pleasant decor and lovely music. The staff tends to rush you in for the Lunch Buffet. When inquiring about vegan options, you may need to clarify that this means no dairy, as some employees may not be familiar with the term. There can be inconsistencies in the information provided about dairy products, but overall the general consensus is that there are vegetarian options with a few vegan items available. Some dishes may contain butter, and there is confusion about whether the flat tortilla-style bread contains milk. The reviewer also notes that they became ill after eating at TAMBA restaurant on the Vegas Strip, but did not experience any negative effects from dining at Gandhis.
