King I At The Lakes - Las Vegas

My wife and I have made this restaurant a regular part of our dining routine—perhaps a bit too often, haha! It has a cozy and comfortable atmosphere that truly feels like a Midwest diner. The food is prepared with care, and the service is consistently excellent. We also appreciate that they offer Ellis Island beers; they’re affordable and do the trick! Some of our favorites include: French Onion Soup, Chicken Fried Chicken, Fish and Chips, Burgers, Salads with excellent homemade dressing, and Hot Chocolate!

As an out-of-towner visiting my parents in Vegas, I decided to check out this restaurant, which feels very much like a local favorite. The prices are incredibly affordable, and the staff is friendly, which is definitely a plus. However, I found the food to be excessively greasy, and many of the dishes were overwhelmed by way too much garlic—this is surprising coming from someone who genuinely loves garlic! It felt like the dishes were just drenched in oil and overpowered by garlic flavor (if that’s even possible). I understand the appeal given the prices, but for me, the level of grease was a bit off-putting.

The setup was frustrating because there were hardly any places to sit unless you were at a gaming machine. I then asked if they were really willing to turn away paying customers in the area during such a slow time, and she confirmed that they were. She identified herself as the manager and made it clear that this was not a bar for drinking and eating, but a gaming bar. I won’t be going back, and I recommend you don’t waste your time either. There are too many other bars in this town that offer great service to bother with this one!

What happened to this place? It used to be our favorite The servers are rude, they seem drunk or high... Our family will never come back.

Cozy, kind and speedy service, overall great value at The Lakes Lounge. Can't forget to mention the beautiful scenery outside too. First timer I walked in on a Monday and was in heaven with the amazing aroma of baby back ribs. I didn't realize until we were seated that there is a daily specials menu and the ribs were the deal of the day. Ordered the full rack of ribs. They were so tasty! Also ordered the fish and chips fish was *chef's kiss* Onion rings were fabulous as well. Did not get a photo of our main courses because they were enjoyed immediately after the plates were set down lol! We'll have to come back to try all the other specials that have caught our eyes. Can't wait!
