You can really feel the family-owned vibe, and they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. I really hope more people come to experience it! This is Indian cuisine at its best! P.S. Don’t forget to ask for the garlic naan!
Spice is my go to place for Indian buffet and I really like the clean atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is fresh and savory. The drinks are tasty and the aloo Gobi is my favorite.
Spice is THE best pick for Indian food in Spring Valley. I'd say it's the best in all of Vegas. The restaurant is pretty nice and the owners clearly care about running a nice, clean establishment. The staff are direct and extremely terse, which some people hate, but they've always treated me with respect and stood by their food. And FOOD is the star. Rich, smooth curries with generous portions of sauce and perfectly cooked rice. Large appetizers well worth the $8 price tags. The tandoori portions are a little small, given the price of meat, but the flavor is phenomenal. I highly suggest you try the Kofta and Korma, especially with the garlic naan. Well spiced, smooth, packed with flavor. Don't sleep on their lentil soup either, just don't expect chunks of lentil, as it's all cooked away leaving an EXPLOSIVE flavor for the soup. A+ all around, I love this place.
Vegetarian options: There are plenty of veggie choices in both the buffet and their takeout menu!
We started with Chicken Momos, which were outstanding and definitely a must-try; we actually found them better than many places in India. However, our next dish, Fish Tikka, was disappointing—it lacked any spices and was completely bland. It makes me wonder if the chef forgot to add salt or spices altogether. Additionally, it was served on a sizzler plate with raw onions and green peppers underneath, which were not cooked at all. For our main courses, we ordered Dal Makhni and Chicken Karahi. The Dal Makhni had an overpowering flavor of “Heeng” and was not cooked properly. Typically, Dal Makhni is slow-cooked for several hours, but this one seemed rushed, almost like it had just started cooking after we placed our order. As for the Chicken Karahi, it also suffered from undercooking, with tough chicken and raw onions and green peppers mixed in. Overall, we would not recommend this restaurant.
