Scarboroughs - LATHAM

This was my 5th time here. I’ve never had a disappointing meal or unpleasant server. Alas I’ve never had a meal that’s knocked my socks off and that’s where we get our 4 star rating. Me and my guests had tried a myriad of dishes off the menu. My favorite is the caper salmon salad (capers are the bomb! but I’ve also had the bbq nachos, harvest sandwich and Reuben. Their French fries are battered and soooooo yummy. Honestly my favorite food item there. I like the location because it’s tucked away with a nice outdoor space in nice weather. It’s close to a lot of office in Latham which is why I’ve ended up there so many times. The waitstaff and bartenders have always been attentive, there when I need them and not when I don’t and pleasant. Prices are reasonable and portions are enough for 2 lunch’s (for me at least, not my husband haha . Would love to see some funky, spicy, international choices but I get that this is not the place for that necessarily. Will definitely go back!

I wanted to post about our experience at Scarboroughs Restaurant. We were a party 4 and had drinks at the bar before being seated. Jen the bartender was pleasant and a pro. She had a great beer selection and suggested a few special drinks. We enjoyed crispy Garlic Parmesan wings at the bar before being seated by Matt. He was very attentive and as we were ordering he told us of this longtime, run family establishment. My wife had the Santa Fe Egg Roll plate and was happy with the crispy overstuffed egg rolls. They came on a tasty bed of rice with sautéed peppers. Portion size excellent. I had the Chilean Sea Bass….a bold choice but it paid off, wonderful entree and I would recommend for someone looking for something different. Quality and quantity was above average….all in all a wonderful experience for the 4 of us. On the way out we saw the spacious patio dining area…next time we’ll spend a warm night dining outside. For sure a 5 star night! Thanks Jen and Matt!

Server was nice but not very attentive. Took a long time just to be able to order food. The crab and bacon dip was PHENOMENAL! I think they said the cook who made its name is Cody, never change the recipe please. 10/10 recommend! The ravioli was extremely good as well as the Ruben. The mozzarella sticks felt like they relied too much on the sauce for flavor. The marinara and melba were great but the mozzarella sticks had no flavor themselves. Could be better.

Enjoyable experience. The day before, I attempted to eat there but they had reduced hours due to a staffing shortage, and had closed the kitchen. I arrived earlier this time and was seated. Calling any restaurant ahead these days to check hours is a good idea. I ordered beef on weck and was pleased with their rendition of the regional specialty. Good service, and the prices were better than expected for the Albany area. I was very glad I returned to try Scarboroughs out.

Wonderful hidden gem in the heart of Latham. Great variety of American fare with some unique dishes. The appetizers we got were both outstanding as were all our entrees. And we received friendly timely service as well.
