The paint room looks good but even that was smoky. Been there, done that, would probably not go back. Why would you go to a Casino if you don't gamble?
I've got to say the more I stay here the more it grows on me. The past few times I've had to stay here is because the Edgewater has been fully booked. I have been getting FREE room offers in the mail my man I take advantage of them. Free room, no resort fee's it seems that when I ask for a refrigerator check-in I get that for free too!! Who can say NO to FREE? Not this girl!! lol At first I wasn't really a big fan of this place. The first time I stayed here I paid to. I checked out the reviews on YELP (my favorite go to place to get real, life people's opinions/experiences on business's) there were some that didn't make this place appealing. BUT we all have our own opinion on things that doesn't mean I will feel the same way or have the same experience. The only thing that concerned me was getting placed in a room where there is a lot of bird poop outside the rooms walkways. So when I would check in I would mention how I read this ask them to not place me there it hasn't happened yet. I do know that they use to have a candy machine with fish food to feed the Koi fish that are outside the hotel entrance this attracted the birds who were the ones probably making that mess so I think that is why they got rid of them. One time I was feeding the fish a bird flew right me tried to take some food out of my hand. Kinda scary!! This is definitely not a 5 star hotel if your a hotel snob and need to have everything nice, new fancy this is not the place for you. The rooms are old could use some updating. The furniture light fixtures are probably from the 80's or older?? But their beds bedding are very comfy! It's like you sink right into the bed once you hit the sheets. The TV's are flat screens kinda small. They could be a little bit bigger. We always bring my AppleTV with us....YES we do sometimes just hang out in our room, relax, eat watch TV. We actually brought my Firestick this past weekend we were able to hook that up too. We have stayed in the rooms closes to Edgewater side. There are other rooms near the Brewery restaurant but I haven't been over there yet. We have noticed the pool stays open late is still open in the winter months. We figure this out when we can hear the people outside in the pool/hot tub. But this is only when we have a room near the pool. This past weekend we were on the first floor the pool was right outside our room. People were in there around 9pm. I couldn't imagine staying in that room during the summer time trying to sleep after being out all night. Other then having a room near the pool the hotel is pretty quiet. They have 2 little stores/gift shops inside. I always love going to hotel gift shops to look around see what I can spend my money on......lol There's a couple bars in here I've seen the one closes the water have live entertainment. Sorry for not knowing the names. They don't have their own player's club area its actually the cashier's cage. Colorado Belle is not in a bad location if you don't mind walking around. I LOVE going to Riverside to go to Loser's lounge. This is a good walk, maybe about 15 minutes? Golden Nugget has a nice little area in their lobby with plants waterfalls which is a shorter walk from Colorado. They also have a water taxi that runs on the water. It use to be free long time ago but right now its $5.00 one way, you can purchase an all day pass but have to go there to find the price they don't always run the same hours. Their flyer says it depends on weather. There is definitely plenty of things to do in Laughlin along the water BullHead, AZ is right across the river. We like to hit Sam's club for beer Walmart for snacks, if we didn't get them prior. There's a few fast food places too if your looking for something quick on your way out of Laughlin or in. So if your not a hotel snob don't mind a cheap, older hotel then check this place out!! Their prices are crazy cheap. So cheap I've booked an extra night when I don't want to have to get up early check out their standard 1100am or a (FREE) late check out which is noon. By booking another night I can stay in the room all day leave anytime that I want to. Sign up for a player's club if your going to be gambling so you can get the free room offers, free playing food vouches to get you to come back. Do be prepared for a long wait to check in. This doesn't always happen but when the line is long they seem to move slow. Not sure if its due to inexperienced people the desk or just slow workers?? Also when your calling to make reservations be aware that their reservation lines are not open 24/7 like in Vegas. If your calling late no one is answering the phone call back in the AM. Just thought this was very weird. Also when I checked in for my free 2 nights had asked if my man could use another free night deals book more time there the girl said she didn't know told me to come back during the day.
We planned a friends' trip during this year's Valentine's Day/Presidents' Day weekend. We stayed at the Colorado Belle since our friends were to. Since it was a long weekend, everything was sold out. There was a long line to check in but it moved fairly quickly. Things went downhill once we checked into our room. The hallways are horrendous definitely need remodeling old carpet, an unpleasant odor, dirty walls. Our room was extremely dark dark dusty. There were two lamps, but neither one was connected to a light switch (our friends ended up taking lamp shades off in their room for more light). There was no door on the closet, no fridge, no extra plugs, a stained rusty shower do not expect any of the basic things you usually get in a hotel room. If you can help it, DO NOT STAY HERE.
I would 1/2 star my 4th star if that was possible. We honestly did enjoy our stay here but the facility is a throw back to an old fashioned river boat but it is lacking in it 's outside cleanliness and our rooms furniture was very vintage for the prices paid for a room with a view of the river and on the boat part of the hotel. Here 's why I say is my star rating. It offered some nice places to sit, have a drink, and enjoy some down time but while looking out at some nice views your eyes also got to see a lot of bird poop and cobwebs. It maybe a big job but the place could use a wash down once every three months or so. My questions are: 1) why is it all the gambling bar stool spots only offer the same old electronic card games? 2) Why isn 't there not a 24 hour bar/club with a juke box, DJ or Band? Hello, people at casinos are usually drinking 24/7 and love to listen to music. The food joints here are good. The Pint has a fabulous Whit Pizza and their T-bone $14.99 steak was de.lish. We had a late night drunk stop at the all night deli and our service clerk was helpful and kind even for that hour of the late night early morning crowd. All in all, we did have a nice time. We enjoyed the slower paced and that it wasn 't overcrowded.
I want to really still like this place, but I believe unless they do some upgrading this will be our last stay at the Colorado Belle. We love the old school look of this hotel. The bed was comfortable and a/c worked great and it was clean for the condition it was in. We were assigned to one of the end balcony rooms which was nice with a private deck overlooking river. But good gracious the walk to the room each time was honestly a little much and kinda creepy! The hallway is long and daunting... Just picture the movie The Shining hallway. My man and I kept freaking each other out walking down it. Anyways the room was a take back in time, with old furniture, scratched and broken. The bathroom was more of the same. We were disappointed for sure, but can 't beat the price to stay. We were mostly out and about so it fit our purpose for sleeping and getting ready. They have a lot of gaming machines, but no blackjack tables running, the couple of restaurants were not to our service standards. Overall they need some work to keep up with the other more updated hotels in Laughlin. As other reviews have stated you get what you pay for at the Colorado Belle.
