Les Boucaniers - Lausanne

The atmosphere was a bit dead on a Tuesday night but I guess that is a constant anywhere in Lausanne. The menu is based on a few salads and burgers. The beer menu is nice. We had an Argentina and a Brie burger. The Argentina burger was not great, super garlicky although the Brie one was OK. A shame that the bread in both burgers was old and soggy. If this restaurant is kind of a burger place they should at least have good bread and cook their own french fries and not use frozen ones, which by the way are absolutely horrible. Don't be lazy! Cooking your own fries is not that much work and probably cheaper that buying those frozen ones! Prices are average, but quality is quite below average. There are way better burgers for the same prices or cheaper in Lausanne.

I had read several good reviews before coming here so I was looking forward to it. The burger was OK, but not amazing and certainly not memorable sadly. The flavour was good, but it lacked a certain je ne sais quoi. More sauce maybe, a sauce that stands out a bit more. A slightly thicker patty would be better also. The patty was a bit thin compared to the bun, taking away from the meat flavour. On the flipside it was easy and not messy to eat. The French fries were good. The highlight was the service. Very friendly, smiley, attentive and courteous. And the best Afro 'do I had seen in a while. So all in all good, but no gold medal.

Unusual places with an identity marked by the fantastical universe. Lots of fun enjoying the different board games available. The staff is top notch
