Blanquitas - Layton

Overall it was better than expected. After reading the reviews we were worried the food would take a while but it came out pretty quick. There weren't too many customers when we were there. Overall staff was friendly. Food was kind of average (beans were fairly bland, fried fish was more blonde than golden, and fajitas could have used a bit more char to enhance the flavor). Our son loved the kids quesadilla and fries. I think we'll try them again and we will update the review if the food impoves. On the positive side, it was very clean and it wasn't crowded which we appreciated. We love to support small businesses and hope the review helps them continue to grow.

A HIDDEN GEM!!! I had Ajillo Shrimp (garlic). They were a pile of nice plump shrimp cooked in Mexican sauce to perfection. See photo of the plate. The rice and refritos are made from scratch dail and were very good. My waitress was Tatayna who was attentive but not obnoxious. The bar is not yet open. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! When the bar opens I hope the Margurita is good.

We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The authentic Mexican food was delicious, the margaritas were refreshing, and the customer service was exceptionally friendly. It’s rare for our picky eaters to enjoy every dish, but this time, our entire family loved everything we tried. We will definitely be returning!

The food was subpar, and the service was incredibly slow, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. They refused to accept the Wasatch Savings coupon, claiming they had no knowledge of it and had not enrolled in the program. We waited 20 minutes while our waitress consulted with several people, all of whom reiterated that they wouldn't honor the coupon. We decided to order anyway, but were ultimately disappointed with the food. I reached out to Wasatch Savings, which is a coupon book I purchased for $30. They informed me that every participating business voluntarily signs up and receives adequate training, so there’s no justification for the restaurant's unfamiliarity with the program. It appeared they wanted the advertising benefits from Wasatch Savings without fulfilling their part of the agreement. I generally dislike leaving negative reviews since they greatly impact a business's success these days, but the level of dishonesty here warranted it.

The restaurant wasn't busy, with only two other customers, but the service was remarkably slow. When the margaritas finally arrived, they tasted like they were made from salt water and were nearly undrinkable. The server didn't bring out extra salsa for most of our meal and never refilled our water. She also refused to bring the tortillas that were supposed to come with the dish. To top it off, the fajitas had hotdogs in them. Hotdogs! I can confidently say that I will never return to Blanquitas again.
