We know this restaurant for a long time, but have always eaten in the neighboring cafe de la place when we know the cook/patron fred. since fred left, however, we decided to try the aux ans for a bright Sunday lunch contract. Superb!...My wife and I shared a gourmet tapas selection and enjoyed a cold refreshing bottle of rose sitting on the beautiful terrace and going the world through happiness! we have re-booked for the next Sunday, where they promise a soirée gypsy, who is looking forward to it!
Firstly, this place is set in a lovely square in le cannet- so is really beautiful both day and night time to dine or just have a few drinks. My boyfreind and I dined here on a Tuesday evening. We both fancied something a little...different to French cuisine so we selected two woks he had chicken, i had vegetable and specified that i was a vegetarian). The dishes were quite tasty, but i took a mouthful of mine and chewed a lump of CHICKEN! : , which wasn't great. We also had to ask a basket of bread that was offered already on all of the other tables. Unfortunately, we found that the waiter wasn't very freindly, always seeming to rush his visits to the table even thought it was a very quiet night), and looking unimpressed when we asked him for the bread. This, for us, ruined the atmosphere a little. All in all, average-to-nice food- just a shame that the service didn't match the surroundings.
The rue St Sauveur area in Le Cannet has improved enormously over the past few years but still keeps the quiet backwater feel to it. So the Aux Anges restaurant allows you to enjoy a pleasant meal away from the hectic summer pace of Cannes....Set in a little square you can enjoy views over Cannes whilst seated under shady plane trees. There are two menus at Aux Anges (25€and 32€ with a varied choice of starters and main course (fillet steak, Scallops, Giant Prawns etc . The staf are friendly and efficient. All in all a very pleasant way to spend a lunch time!
Great view, great friendly service and fresh, well seasoned produce which can be rare on the southeast coast of france ! Good place for a romantic dinner, and the view is not bad either. You should try their foie gras poele for starters it 's...mental! They also have a good selection of wines, which they 'll be able to recommend depending on what you 'll be eating. In conclusion, you should definitely go for it of you 're in the area. We 'd come back.
