Contribuisci feedbackThis restaurant is usually perfect but a little disappointment during our last visit. Too bad: the menu of children too salty, unmangeable, in my salad, the crayfish have been forgotten, the usually delicious frogs were small and in small quantities, and dessert really much too sweet. I guess the usual cook was missing. I still recommend it because this does not reflect the other visits.
We know this restaurant well since it's been 20 years since we've been there regularly for family occasions or simply to eat well. Lost on the road to ponds in Dombes, this small restaurant that does not pay for a mine is worth a visit. Whether it's the week or the weekend, the quality is always at the rendezvous. Pure a dombist menu at about 30€, you have entered-plat-fromage-dessert, well on the traditional frogs. As a dombist, I have not yet eaten better frogs than those of Mr.Malapel, the head of the place, passionate about his trade and the products of the region. Here, you will not have the usual gratin dauphinois, but rather chips apples, restaurant's factory brand: they are fine roasts of fried potatoes. It's good, it's crispy and terribly addictive...! Also note the homemade prepared carp sausage. It is a kind of carp quenelle that the chef serves with a small perfumed mayonnaise. A treat! The attentions are here, from the amusement to the mignardises of coffee. The service is smiling and friendly. Note the small plus: a terrace shaded by old plane trees, very pleasant in the summer evenings. This restaurant has been our favourite family spot for several years.
Installed inside, in the small room close to the bar covered with zinc, we spent a pleasant and quiet moment. We have chosen the chef's specialities menu and we have not been disappointed, a salad with tidy carp fillets and the traditional chicken with bit cream. The dishes are generous and rather well presented, the products are fresh and of quality. The patronage for small care for his clients likes to comment on the origin of the products. For local cuisine lovers, this is an address we recommend.
We have lunch on weekdays in this restaurant to taste frogs. We opted for a menu at 30€ : entry, dish, cheese,dessert Very good hearty meals excellent frogs) Effective and friendly Srvice In the beautiful days it is possible to have lunch on the terrace. The region is beautiful: visit of Chatillon sur Chalaronne, the grapes of the Dombes ....
