It's clearly a local place, but the menu is excellent and quality of food very good. There is a children's menu and the staff were warm and friendly. They have made an effort to create an English version of the menu which has some amusing literal translations of traditional dishes! There's not a lot about Le Havre for the visitor but we certainly enjoyed eating here and would come back.
We have eaten at this restaurant many times on our trips across to Le Havre so were looking forward to going back. On arrival there was only one other table occupied so they were not busy but the waitresses were not interested in serving us. We sat there for at least 10mins and no one brought us a menu they just stood at the bar talking amongst themselves. This is not the way to run a restaurant so we walked out.
This was my second visit to this restaurant: October 2015; June 2016. I was in Le Havre on a business trip. My corporate credit card is Amex. This is one of the few restaurants in Le Havre that take Amex. The good experience in October and the ability to use Amex brought me back.Started off with a glass of Affligem. This Belgian beer is on tap nearly everywhere I have visited in Le Havre. I went with the €29+ menu. I had raw Normandy oysters as the appetizer. Very delicate. I unknowingly ordered the same main course: beef filet with Gorgonzola sauce and frites. Just as good as the first time that I had it. Half liter of Cote du Rhone was €6.xx. Had the Savarin dessert and a really good cup of espresso.I will come back to this restaurant the next time that I am in Le Havre.
I was exploring the streets of Le Havre when I stumbled upon this place. I happened to be traveling with two American women, one of whom was a very picky eater, and neither of whom spoke French. The waitress was exceptionally kind and patient as I translated all of their questions and all of her answers back to them. The food was fantastic (regional French cuisine) and the service was exceptional! I will be coming back the next time I am in Le Havre, for sure!
Just dined there, on a Saturday night, with my wife. No reservation required at 20.00 but by 21.00 it was virtually full. 80% French. Good value, but quality of ingredients substantially higher than that of the cooking. I would say " fast" traditional French food. €101 for 2 medium menus, 1 bottle of wine, 2 tea/coffe, 1 aper, 1 Calva.
