Perhaps the hype had me believing this restaurant would be off the charts good. Sadly, it wasn 't. I 've had far better Italian fare while dining out. We started our meal with Aranchini. They were large, flavourful, and excellent. They were the star of the night. Two of our group of four ordered Chicken Parmesean with pasta. One did not finish it (perhaps 1/4 of it as he found the chicken rubbery I found the chicken far too thin with heavy breading. One of our group ordered the beef tips in pasta with mushrooms. He said the beef tips were overcooked. However, the sauce was excellent. Pasta was not freshly made. Person 4 ordered the ravioli stuffed with butter nut stuffed squash. She said it was tasteless....huge disappointment as she lit up when she saw it on the menu. 3 of us had Caesar salads..which were good. Person 4 had a house salad...said it was good. Service by Andrea was excellent, considering how busy it got. Ambiance was very loud (there was a table of about 20 ppl running the centre of the restaurant . Pacing for food to come out was slow (but to be fair, the large table ordered before us . All 4 of us, when outside, discussed whether we 'd return, and the consensus was that we would not (all 4 of us . In this case, the hype did not live up to it.
We were so excited to have a nice dinner here when we booked our little weekend babymoon/getaway, but we ended up extremely disappointed. We waited 30 minutes for someone to ask us for our drink order AFTER watching MULTIPLE tables being seated after us and served before us. This was after my husband had to go to the bar to order a drink AND THEN I had to go back up and let someone know we have yet to see a server at our table. When we did get a server, they acted like they never saw us even though they had served the tables around us and I was wearing a very stand-out color. We were comped dessert, but the overall experience just wasn't good. It seemed to us that the wait staff was on the younger side and management was no where to be found. My pollo marsala was so sweet (the sauce reminded me of jelly), but the arancini was great and so was my husband's pizza. We would probably order takeout here of the items we liked if we ever came back to town, but it wouldn't be our first choice and we definitely wouldn't recommend going to the restaurant for dinner if someone asked. I try not to be too critical of places, but this was just an awful experience for us.
This place is a gem of Italian food. The pasta is fresh And the sauce is awesome. Maybe it's local tomatoes? I dunno. But we've never been disappointed by the food here. One time in restaurant and a bunch of delivery and it's always fantastic.
I recently visited Sarracino upon a recommendation. Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated in a nearly empty restaurant. The lettuce leaves in the salad were wilted and not fresh. We waited a long time for our food, only to find it overcooked. The lamb was tough and the vegetables were overdone, with a sauce that had lost its color. The food was disappointing, but the staff were friendly.
