The meal was altogether good, ground bbq meat, an salat and frying sweet, but the show itself was quite disappointing. the day show was entertaining and enjoyable, but there was nothing special about it. we then saw the evening show, and while something. different, it was similar enough and much shorter than the day show, with no wow in it again. If I could go back, I would save the money for something else and skip the BBQ night show. especially if he sings while they eat, it would be great to see that the singing part comes from the night show (if he can sing, he is not really a singer) and instead, show more what he is better to demonstrate more animal management and stockmann skills. he also sings about 3 songs in the tagesshow that mix it, but I really wanted to see horses and other stock skills against a amateur singer. either that, or make the price lower so that they feel that they get worth for their money. my recommendation when you see a show, make it the day and save them the cost of the bbq night show, try the longreach rsl for a nice meal instead.
My family and I attended the dinner show at the Stockman's Hall of Fame. The show was great, featuring demonstrations of warehouse handling techniques. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was no animal cruelty or forced animal performances as I had feared. The show had a typical Australian low-key charm, but was very informative and entertaining. The dinner was tasty, though quite basic. It seemed to be a traditional Stockman's meal. The quality of the food was good and it was served promptly.
I booked a dinner show in Longreach that was fantastic. The night started with some entertaining horse riding, followed by a funny performance and lots of audience participation. It's best to sit at the front to fully enjoy the experience. Then we enjoyed a delicious two-course dinner, with a roast and dessert prepared by the singer (known as The Stockman) who also cooked the meal. The whole evening was highly enjoyable and memorable.
We were greeted by the friendly bus driver, Dan, and thoroughly enjoyed his stories. The show and dinner were both excellent. We indulged in delicious roasts with all the fixings, followed by scrumptious apple crumble. The evening was pleasant and we had a great time socializing with other travelers during dinner.
