I enjoy their hibachi, especially the vegetables but I don't ever get sushi here so I cannot attest to that. While the food is still good, the restaurant has changed quite a bitover the year. Their portions have decreased, as has their customer service. The last time I order a customer came in while Iwas paying and said her order came out wrong. I was very off put by the fact that the employees there dug her food out, openedit, and told her it was correct. She explained what she had asked for (which was not in her to-go box) and they belittled her byreciting what they thought she said and acting very reluctant to get her a replacement meal. I know customers can be tricky, butwhen it comes to food service I know I personally would not be comfortable with them going through my order and then telling meit was right when I came to get it correct. At that point, even if it is right, they had their hands all over it.
First time for us. We popped in on a Monday around 2pm and the restaurant was busy with lots of college kids. Sake is very unassuming from the outside, the decor is simple but functional. It has the feel of a comfortable beloved neighborhood venue. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was tasty and authentic, the sushi freshly made, leaving you wantingmore. We did not feel rushed or pressured, but rather very welcome. We met the owner who had that morning received a plaquefrom the Chamber of Commerce of Lebanon for being a favored business. If you are in the mood for truly authentic sushi andhibachi then a visit to Sake is a must.
After living in Japan for 2 yrs, it's hard to find a Japanese restaurant that I like. They never have the entrées that I really enjoyed from my time over seas. That being said, it was not bad. I have only been once and did not try alot of items. My sonlikes this place for their sushi.
Did you know they make their yum yum sauce in house? You can taste the quality! This delicious place is locally owned and operated by the Truong family. They pay attention to the details, have very reasonable prices and fresh made to order handsrolled sushi. You won't regret going.
Busy! Hibachi vegetables were good but the meat was a bit dry, with lighter seasoning. The sushi rolls carried the meal! I particularly liked the crunchy eel roll and the Tennessean roll. Definitely planning to come back to enjoy again.
