The crostini complemented the strong-flavored soft cheese perfectly. We further enriched our meal with two outstanding beetroot salads, which surprisingly converted me to liking this vegetable, thanks to the wonderful mix of vinaigrette, almond slices, cranberries, and a wonderful balance of carrot slivers and arugula. Overall, this experience was a delightful surprise, courtesy of a recommendation from a local shop owner at Hidden Treasures, a charming thrift and consignment store. We can’t wait to return for another evening of stellar food and drinks!
Downtown Lebanon's newest gem is a fantastic escape for couples or small groups of friends. It's an excellent alternative to 1847 for later professional meet-ups as well. The Cellar transforms beautifully from SugarVibes, with only a faint scent of donuts left to remind you of its former identity. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, perfect for intimate conversations. The selection of delightful wines and cocktails enhances the overall experience. The menu caters to local tastes, featuring familiar ingredients served in unique and flavorful ways. A tip for those with bigger appetites: be ready to spend a bit more or consider ordering a second meal, as the Cellar prioritizes quality over quantity. We had a wonderful evening enjoying great food and each other's company in this laid-back yet elegant downtown hideaway. Be sure to check it out!
Absolutely fantastic food, attentive service, and an impressive selection of wine and cocktails. The modern and cozy ambiance makes it an excellent option for date nights, get-togethers with friends, or simply unwinding after a long day. It's refreshing to see such a progressive concept in Lebanon. I highly recommend it!
The chorizo and smoked gouda stuffed jalapeño with garlic lime aioli was spectacular—a standout combination that eclipsed any other stuffed jalapeño I've ever tasted. It boasted an amazing flavor profile and vibrant presentation. My entrée was enormous—almost embarrassingly so! The fried chicken breast was cooked impeccably, proving juicy with a light, crispy crust. It was served over a generous portion of risotto and topped with a classic French velouté sauce featuring cremini mushrooms. While the chicken was undoubtedly the star of the dish with its incredible flavor, there was too much risotto, making it a bit challenging to enjoy and overshadowing the chicken. For dessert, there was only one option, but I had to try it: crème brûlée bananas accompanied by homemade local vanilla bean ice cream. It was a creative and delightful treat. To my surprise, the chef came to my table to chat with me. I was truly impressed, especially knowing that she is self-taught and inspired. I've encountered many formally trained chefs who couldn't cook, creating beautiful plates with flair that ultimately fell short on flavor. But Ciara has a natural talent for cooking and pairing flavors. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at The Cellar. It offers a big city dining experience at small-town prices. If you haven't yet visited this restaurant, it's definitely a must-try!
I ordered a $25 steak that was smaller than a quarter-cup measuring spoon. The "seasonal" vegetable turned out to be canned peas. Overall, it wasn't worth the money. The chicken dish was basically a frozen chicken Parmesan from Costco. I was very disappointed with my meal.
