The shawarma wraps are huge and absolutely delicious: a bargain for £3.50! The salad options are also really tasty. Would highly recommend for a cheap and cheerful yet delicious and authentic quick lunch!
I went on my mother in law's recommendation and was very impressed. The Cafe was busy which is always a good sign and we ordered. We ordered the mixed schwarma and were impressed with the amount of food you get for £6. Unfortunately the card machine wasn't working but we're kindly offered a mint tea as an apology which was unnecessary as it wasn't an issue anyway. The food was very well cooked and beautiful to eat. I would say it was better than what you get in some restaurants. Staff were chatty and very friendly providing a great atmosphere. I would highly recommend.
We used to look forward to our visits to Cafe Moor but the standard has gone down during recent months to the extent that we won't be going again.
I 've been going here for the past two years on and off. I normally get the mixed shawarma meal which comes with chicken shawarma, falafel, chips, salad, a variety of dips and some bread. It really depends on the day of the week I go in as to whether I get quality, good value for money food or whether I feel short changed by okay food with little to no value for money due to lack of quantity. On this particular occasion, a friend ordered a chicken shawarma wrap £3.50) and I got the mixed shawarma meal £6). I got down to the food hall in the market and looked at my meal surprised at what I was seeing. My friend observed Is that it? there was more chicken in her £3.50 wrap than there was in my £6 meal, there was one falafel to complement the chicken. I decided to go back up to cafe moor to ask them to explain why I only got one falafel usually they gave two) the man at the counter was slightly embarrassed and got defensive. He gave me an extra piece of falafel and said theyd recently changed the serving size. Anyway, he gave me an extra falafel and said he 'd hope I come back. I wont be going back, after spending the amount of money I 've spent at cafe moor I 'd expect the quality and quantity to be in line with the price charged. This is too often not the case. It really is a lucky dip depending on which staff member is working on a particular day. Its a shame.
Popped in for lunch on a weekday and there was only one person ahead ordering. The food took a long time but when it came it was absolutely delicious, some of the best falafel I’ve ever had. Will definitely return, the bourek look delicious and there was a lady freshly making things from dough. The stall is teeny tiny but so pretty with lovely signage and a stunning antique till.
