Staff lovely. Food awful, couldn't eat it. The staff were really friendly and helpful. This pub looks great for just drinks and a nice ambience but there are much better places to eat. The food was overcooked, lots of it deep fried. The chunky chips were dry and tasteless

Lovely place. Very warm welcome. Dog friendly if that suits you. Sunday roast decent quality albeit a bit too much. Quite an expensive place but nice for a change

Met with our daughter and the grandchildren today for lunch. Thank God they'd lit the fire the two booths that we were given the choice of using were decidedly cool.. I did wonder if they got the air conditioning on, but soon realised it was draughts from the old windows.. but in fairness we did manage to get moved to a table closer to the fire.. ..but I digress... Two adult roasts and two children's roasts these appeared to be fine. But my son in law had the spicy chicken burger and I had the Hunters Chicken. Son in law asked for extra hot sauce. Said it was disappointing. I had the Hunters Chicken it's my go to dish in a pub I've not eaten in before.. The chicken itself was hot and the bbq sauce and melted cheese were fine. But I get the distinct impression that it had been freshly nuked in the microwave in the kitchen. The fillet was tough and pretty hard in texture. I should have sent it back, but we were hungry and they were really busy.. but when you're paying over £71 (the children's meals were half the price of the adult roasts without drinks, you'd expect better. Or at least I would.. And talking of drinks one J2O and a pint of Coke when we got there (we were early at over £8.00 especially when the Coke is on tap so it's soda water and concentrate bit steep, if you ask me... God haven't lived here two years yet but my inner Yorkshireman is coming out already!! It was ok but don't think we'll be going there again. Though it was packed in there so some must like it :

Sunday dinner with unlimited Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes. Book before as they were turning people away. Dog friendly

Friendly staff, excellent food choices. We had Sunday roasts 3 with mushroom Wellington and two with 3 different meats. Big portions and excellent quality. Dogs are welcome and gave their own menu. Our dog can also recommend the food!
