The food and cakes looked tempting, and I tried the fruit and carrot cake which was delicious - in fact, I thought it tasted even better than cakes I've had from Harrods, and at a fraction of the price. The hot chocolate was indeed very hot, just as described. I highly recommend this cafe for families and friends looking for a welcoming atmosphere. Special thanks to the manager who welcomed me upon entering - her warmth made me feel right at home. I will definitely be coming back again in the future.

The service was excellent and the prices were reasonable. I appreciated the open and clean kitchen, and I was happy to see that they don't skimp on low-quality tea. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant.

This was once a staff canteen. Now open to the public. It serves good-value canteen-style food. Caterers' favourites like chili-con-carne and rice are good, but pasta dishes suffer from being kept hot. Excellent value for money with generous portions. Open coffee time and lunchtimes.

I have visited The Gate House several times, initially just for their fresh coffee, but I was drawn in by the daily prepared food at fantastic prices. They offer a wonderful selection of hot and cold meals and mouthwatering desserts. If you are nearby, I highly recommend stopping in - you will not be disappointed.
