The restaurant was bustling with customers and the fish was freshly made to order. It was one of the best traditional Fish and Chips I have had in a while. The adult portion of fish bites and chips was £6.50, with a tasty and crispy batter on the fish and fresh chips. The portion size was on the smaller side, but it could have been because of what I ordered. I also got mushy peas, gravy, and curry sauce, all of which were delicious. There was a nice seating area outside to enjoy the meal. The only downside was that I wanted a second helping.

I decided to try this restaurant today as a one-off because our usual spot, The Maypole, is closed on Mondays. What a huge mistake that was. My fish and the batter were soaked in oil to the point where it was seeping through the paper by the time I got home (which is less than a mile away). When I unwrapped the fish, it was completely drenched in oil, making the small, grey, soggy piece of fish and the disgusting batter even worse. Considering the price, none of my family or friends will be returning to Uncle Joe's chip shop. It's absolutely disgusting, even if it were half the price. I strongly advise avoiding this place like the plague. It's overpriced, the food is greasy, and the staff are incredibly rude. Consider this your warning – save your money for The Maypole on Tuesday. It's definitely worth every penny.

This fish and chip shop is absolutely top-notch. The fresh fish is cooked to order, the chips are fantastic, and everything is served with great professionalism and a friendly smile. I have been here many times over the years and they never disappoint. Today, I can confidently say that these were the best fish and chips I have had in a long time. The fish was firm and delicious, the batter was golden and not greasy, the scraps were light and crunchy, and the chips were beautifully golden. To top it off, I discovered pea fritters on the menu - mushy peas shaped into a burger, dipped in batter, and deep-fried. They were simple yet absolutely delicious. I highly recommend trying them, and I wish I had taken a photo.

.soggy batter small child size portions and a 25% price hike. fish bites meal deal has gone from £6:00 to £7:50 in a week. The portions have got smaller and the quality has gone downhill. Called tonight for tea and bought a fish bites meal and a scampi meal. The scampi was all crumb ,only 7 small pieces, and no filling with a very small chips, which cost £6:50. When I rang the manager to say how disappointing we were she said they are the same as always, which i told her was not true as we have been customers there for 10 years. I told her the chips were a pittance and she said it was because they were well done but we always get them well done and never been like this. When asked about the extortionate increase i was told its only 10% which is incorrect as it is 25% more. was offered a replacement of one of the meals when we return ,but i said we wouldn't be returning to waste more money. The manager then put an assistant on to talk to me and she agreed with me and also said the staff have been told to put less in the meal. So this means they have got 25% less food for an increase of 25%. Maybe this is why when we drove around the corner there was a queue at the other fish shop and no customers in here .

Some of the best F&Cs I’ve ever had, and my family always want to go when they visit. Absolutely delicious and great value for money
