The continental breakfast was okay. Nothing special but decent enough. While we were getting our continental breakfast we could see all the staff chatting behind the bar, there were multiple dirty tables and us waiting to be served. There were 5 of us, we asked for tomato on breakfast and we did not get it , we asked for the fried egg to not be runny and it was. All the breakfasts were lukewarm/cold. There was pancakes on the menu when we asked the staff for then she said she would check, they were never put out and didn’t come over to tell us that they didn’t have any. The staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there, seemed more interested in talking to each other than serving the customers, overall was just a poor experience and we won’t be back.
Awful cooked food! Basic breakfast to collect yourself. The cooked food needs ordering and comes very quickly, mainly because it is either warmed up or not cooked through! Never going again.
Travelled from Essex and stayed at the joining Premier Inn which was a lovely stay. Except for our experience in the restaurant. We ordered a few starter meals to see us over as we were going to a wedding, the dishes were nice. However the service wasn’t. We felt like we were an inconvenience. It wasn’t busy at all as was only a few tables occupied. After being seated we waited for so long for someone to take our order that we had to find someone to take it to which the waitress rolled her eyes. After we were finished with our meal we asked for the bill when the waitress was in our area. Again she reacted like we inconvenienced her. And after she brought the bill we were waiting a long time again for someone to come back so we could actually pay. So again had to find someone. I understand that the restaurant was short staffed as we overheard a waitress telling other customers, but it doesn’t really excuse the how we felt we were treated and how long we were kept waiting for considering how quiet it was. Also the breakfast meal the next morning was awful. My partner and I basically ordered a full English cooked breakfast but the only decent thing about it was the sausages. Everything else tasted odd and or barely warm. My partner couldn’t finish her breakfast
On entering the restaurant, it seemed barn like in size and was very quiet for a lunchtime service. First impressions weren’t great, a few vacated tables that had not been cleared and the carpet looked like it could do with a good clean, not a fabulous start. We were seated quickly and offered drinks and menus by a very friendly attentive young lady, in fact all of the staff we encountered were lovely, big tick . This is not a fine dining restaurant and not the sort of place my companion and I would normally choose to dine in, it’s a little bit like a fast food chain and the menu is full of things you would get in a budget joint (like burger’s) not much in the way of originality but it’s main customers are probably staying in the attached Premier Inn as it is very near the airport. The reason that we were there on this occasion was the offer of 40% off mains (easy to find on bookface) and we fancied a steak which these restaurants usually do well. So that said I ordered the prawn cocktail to start and a sirloin steak for my main course. The food was well presented and very tasty, one small point in that my steak was maybe a little over cooked, I asked for medium and it was not pink at all. The peppercorn sauce was delicious although at 1.99 extra I felt it should have been included in the price of the steak. In summary, service was great but the restaurant became quite noisy with lots of unrestrained children running about screaming, unfortunately it’s that sort of place so not really a surprise, just disappointing that parents don’t teach their children how to behave in public and table manners which means sitting quietly and not upsetting other diners with their atrocious behaviour. Food was ok/good but if we had paid full price for our mains it would have been way overpriced. The restaurant is large and noisy, didn’t look clean at all and someone needs to clean up outside and get a gardening firm in to tidy up the overgrown flower beds, not at all a good impression. I would not return.
Just come back from celebrating my mums birthday and have to say absolutely love this restaurant. Each time we go we are served by a lovely waitress Charlotte she goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need .I hope the management know what a valued colleague they have working for them . I am gluten free plus other dietary needs and so is my mum. They have a fantastic gluten free menu and really care. My mum had a soya milk coffee and Charlotte brought different coffees for my mum to try. The service and food is fantastic thankyou for a great evening we will be back and hoping Charlotte is our waitress again
