My mom is Thai and I grew up in Thailand so I know what the food should taste like and this place is really authentic, with a great modern vibe. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I tried the beef salad or nam tok , fried tilapia special, and another special crispy pork stir fried with Chinese broccoli. I couldn 't make up my mind which sauce I wanted on the fish so the chef was nice enough to give me both on the side. The curry sauce was particularly good! Food was excellent and tasty, totally satisfied my craving for comfort Thai flavors. If you want stuff spicy make sure to tell the servers. I noticed they have a great lunch special too portions look huge and very reasonably priced. They are working on getting their new liquor license.
Gross. We ordered Chive dumplings, Thai dumplings, Pad see ew with Tofu, Pad see ew with Beef and pork fried rice. 1) Total came to $60. Expensive. And not like many places where they have coupons. 2) There was no flavor in anything at all. I added a bunch of soy sauce and salt and it tasted like rubber. 3) The Thai dumplings were wrapped in plastic wrap. Not sure why. 4) The Chive dumplings were disgusting. I wish I had checked the yelp reviews before going. We would have picked another location. Oh and the restaurant didn't have one person in it. Absolutely dead. Now we know why.
I came here on a Sunday just as they opened for lunch. I was the first person in. The interior is nicely decorated and I appreciated that they didn 't have the air conditioning set to deep freeze as many places are apt to do in hot climates. I ordered a fried tofu appetizer and a vegetarian eggplant dish, hot. My overall impression of the place is about 3.5 but I 'm giving it four stars instead of three because I 'm feeling generous today. The service was prompt and friendly and the music wasn 't too loud. The fried tofu could have been better. I think the tofu wasn 't as fresh as I like. Not as bad as the stuff you 'd find at Safeway or Whole Foods, but not the beautiful custard-smooth stuff you get at an asian market. The dipping sauce that came with it was sweet and mostly flavorless with chopped peanuts on top. The eggplant dish was good, although the spice level only just hit mild . It was flavorful though and nicely presented on the plate. Pros: Nice decoration, clean interior, good service, great spill-free plastic containers for leftovers, extensive and (seemingly) creative drinks menu, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic Cons: bland tofu dipping sauce, much too mild on the spice-o-meter
3 stars really? I think this place is very under appreciated. I live in this are and always want to try Burapa. Went there with my kids. It was a quiet afternoon. The dish that I order was Duck curry, padthai and super chix for my kids. Everything was GREAT and i m sure I will be back for sure PS. thank staff for kindly service too
Among the few restaurants that I am giving a higher rating than their average reviews. Had their lunch combo today. Great value where you get to try two different entrees. Food was delicious!!
