Shimla Pinks - Leicester

We had been recommended this restaurant and booked instead of going to Paddy’s St. Martins and wish we hadn’t. Having travelled an hour from Northampton for an evening with friends we were extremely disappointed. The service was appalling at best. The staff showed very little interest in us and even went as far as saying the kitchen was too busy to do an extra egg in one of the dishes despite egg curry being on the menu. The food was okay but no more than that. Would never go back nor recommend and if anyone wants a lovely meal with attentive service go to Paddy’s St. Martins Inn Leicester.

The dining experience at this restaurant was wonderful, with amazing food. We ordered the garlic and chili lamb, kaalimirch chicken tikka, aubergine curry, jeera rice, and naan bread. As soon as we arrived, Arif greeted us and escorted us to our table. We felt very welcome and appreciated the excellent service. We will definitely return again in the future.

After a busy day of business meetings, we decided to wind down at this restaurant that we had enjoyed in the past. This time, however, we were disappointed with the service. It took 45 minutes to place our order and our food arrived at different times, with one member of our group receiving their dish much later than the rest of us. The Nan breads also came out late. While most of the staff were friendly, the person serving our plates seemed grumpy. Despite these issues, the food itself was excellent and we had no complaints in that regard. Unfortunately, this experience has led our group to decide not to return to this restaurant in the future.

The meal was fantastic and the service was excellent. The only drawback was that the wines were more expensive than what we are used to at our local Indian restaurant.

This used to be a great curry house with a good inspiring menu. Sadly it has become more of a takeaway business that has some sit in customers. The curry had no flavour at all, the meat was tough and the nan awful. 10% service charge for slow poor service . I won't be returning.
