The Ocean - Leicester

Not been for a good 6 months but driving by and used to use this chippy at least twice a month until I had a bad meal before, but will always give places a second chance. Had a LARGE doner kebab, in a pitta with salad and sauce. Pitta was broken up and couldn’t hold anything in, doner meat very dry/ overcooked and for a large potion at £7.30 it was a terrible quantity. Barley any salad and strangely had jalapeños in? And sauce was a tiny amount. Used to rave about the kebabs there when they were cheaper and at least twice the size and so fresh/ tastey!! There is a lot better value around and a lot more competition around there for kebabs and a good selection of chip shops within a few miles. Will try again in the future but won’t be rushing back.

Only given four out of five because the owner can be a little bit rude and the waiting time is sometimes a bit too much. The lady owner of the partnership is lovely. Katreen or something like that. I think she knows her husband can be an as hole but she smiles and keeps the customers happy. Food is lovely and a good choice and variety too.

We have ordered several times from the ocean through Deliveroo. Absolutely smashed it !! Always hot always early.on time . Will not order from anywhere else

I have just had some fish and chips from the Ocean in Aylestone. I had to wait as there was no fish ready, that’s okay I thought it will be nice and fresh. How wrong I was. The fish was over cooked and dry and batter was like concrete. Considering it was fresh out of the fryer this was very disappointing. The chips were just okay but some were a bit tough. It’s a shame as this used to be a really good chippy. I won’t be back.
