The bacalhau is amazing. the personal is very helpful.
Great place to have a traditional meal, cooked on a fire. Everyone I know says it's the best cod fish in town, but I go there for the ribs and steak.
We spent a few days at Royal Isabela recently and had several meals at Jota. There are some jems on this menu namely the Porcini Mushroom Ravioli and their version of Egg White Avocado Toast for breakfast. We loved the mushroom ravioli so much we ordered it several times. Our servers at breakfast by Fatima was delightful and Sophia, Ismael and Raymond delivered during dinner service and were fantastic. There did seem to be some kitchen issues during our stay, namely the pizza oven was out of order and our meat temperatures weren't exactly right the first time, however the kitchen promptly fixed our issues and we enjoyed our meals. Ismael provided excellent wine recommendations and we will be enjoying those bottles again. Oh, and the view is fantastic.
I have been coming here all my life since it was my parents favourite when I was a little girl. The quality of food is amazing. The privately family run restaurant focuses on two main dinners, grilled meats or grilled salt cod. This is cooked on their coals in front of you in the restaurant which creates a real cosy ambience especially in the colder months. The service is next to none, always attentive and always accommodating to your requests and needs no matter how incredibly busy they get they always have time for you. This will always be my local favourite when visiting ‘home’.
