River Main - Leland

Stopped through Fishtown to grab a cup of coffee, local suggested the Blue Boat but that was an awful experience so I stumbled into this cute lil place. Not just a coffee bar but candies and goodies, too. Great roast we enjoyed in latte and iced americano. They were kind too and that a real bonus these days! Make the coffee taste much better!

Today I tried to give River Main another chance. In the past, I have had very bad service from rude employees and substandard coffee drinks. I have talked to a manger about this in the past, as I love to support local businesses and let the owners/managers know if there has been an issue. Time and time again I have tried to support this business, but after today I will not be back. I walked in to no greeting and an angry look from the woman working behind the drinks counter. She demanded to know what we'd like to order after only a few seconds of looking at the menu. I ordered a frozen chai with almond milk and once it was ready, it was practically thrown at me. The drink tasted like watered down milk, hardly any chai taste, per usual. I would have asked her to remake it, but due to this employees attitude, and past negative experiences, I figured it was not worth my time and decided to write this review in the hopes of letting the owners know and to warn others from this poor business.

Even if my coffee drink was good (which it was not), I will never go back. The middle aged woman helping me was rude and dismissive. She had an attitude from the moment I walked up to the counter. Her attitude only improved when she almost messed up my order after having me repeat it to her 3 times. I work in the food industry and have a lot of grace for people in it, but having a horrible attitude for no reason is unacceptable. I love supporting local but this will not be a place I ever go back to again.

Excellent coffee. We even bought beans to take home with us!! Staff was very welcoming and friendly.

Super fresh candy selection and the worker there was SO kind and even offered to put my sour gummies in a different bag than my sweet gummies so the flavors wouldn't mix! Reasonable pricing and fantastic quality. I'll be back!!
