Contribuisci feedbackRestaurant establishments should know what is in their food items. I called to ask what were the exact veggies in the veg dumplings. The new employee didn't know and an existing employee listed 2 ingredients that I could overhear. Understandlably, an inexperienced employee, but completely unwilling to check with the kitchen or put someone else on the phone! With so many food intolerances and just pure preference, ingredients on menu items should be basic information to the employees. I remember when the ingredients lists binders were part of training. Super disappointed, and lost my business.
I am a soup dumpling aficionado. I try them every city I travel to. Tasty dumpling is in the middle of the pack. Their dipping sauce is chili based. Different than I am used to but interesting. Give this place a try. I wanted to give it 3.25 stars but google doesn’t allow that.
I went here for the first time today and noticed that most of the food comes in large orders not single portions, so I ordered the only single portion I found on the menu which was the pork buns. The wait for pork buns was 20 minutes when usually there is no wait at a dim sum place to go. These were the most awful pork buns I ever tasted: It was small with a sliver of flat pork inside covered with mostly buns. It was not your typical Chinese pork buns! Moreover, the price was steep, $6.00 for two small buns. In my opinion, Tasty Dumpling is not worth the visit.
I mainly came here for their authentic handcraft Xiao Long Bao. They have an open kitchen concept in which you can see them make their delicacies realtime. I ordered their spicy pork Xiao Long Bao. One order comes with 8 handcrafted pieces. They were initially really hot, but cool down fairly fast. They are delicious in my opinion. There is lots of flavor in the meat and the broth. There is a really good balance of meat, dough and broth. They are each a decent size.I was also fortunate to try their Beef Braised Brisket Noodle Soup. The broth has a slight spice to it and although on the saltier side, it is packed with flavor. The meat is abundant and incredibly tender. The noodles are thin and have a pleasant chewy texture. The portions are generous with this soup. The Thai iced tea has good flavor and a fair price. I wish it was creamier though. I have to be back to try their Organic Coconut Dessert.Staff is friendly and fast. The restaurant is quite spacious and clean. They offer dine-in with indoor and outdoor seating, takeout and online orders. They also offer delivery through third party apps. It’s located in Crocker Village right in between Great Clips and Nekter Juice Bar. There is plenty is parking available.
A little overpriced, dumplings were good to ok (comparing to homemade)....provides for a quick fixParking: Plenty of parking, but may not be up close....allows you to burn some calories before indulging in yumminess
