This Papa John's location in specific was outstanding. 87th and Loiret. It was busy as hell, the inside is super small, and they had a lot of staff there. Even with the plethora of orders I overheard the employees complimenting each other on doing a good job, verbal assurances of lite at the end of the tunnel, and managed to wish every driver a safe trip on deliveries. I worked in the pizza business for almost 15 years, and they were flawless!
The reason for the 5 stars is for Mark, during the Chiefs game I called before half time to order a carry out Garlic Crust Large. Mark effectively described it could be a 45 minute wait or longer, he was alone. Understandably a wait during a Chiefs game. So I asked what would be a good time for me to arrive, he told me to show up at 1:20 and he 'd start the pizza and it would take about 6 minutes. I arrived to see this dude actually was all alone on game day in a predicted snow storm!! We knew yesterday, apparently who he reports to, did not. I watched this guy answer phones, lead deliveries, take orders, make the orders and then bake and box the orders, then the dude did a quick spot mop! ALL BY HIMSELF. Holy smokes, you dont find team-members like Mark, they are a unicorn in the retail world. I asked could I take some pics to post and he 'd be visible in them, so I captured a couple. That store needed a minimum of 2 team-members, ideally, 3 considering we all knew the snow was coming and we had a home game. I 'm not gonna blast his boss negatively because I dont know what happened or the why facts. Perhaps some folks called in sick or weather bound. Regardless, Mark, you kicked a that Sunday and the pizza was perfect. Thanks for the great service.
I havent gone to this store or had papa johns for at least a year or two. At first i was kind of sad about the store- hiring signs everywhere, pizza sizes seemed to be nothing compared to what i had once expirenced, and the pitch for bake at home seemed to vanish. However, the customer service was super friendly and professional!! And Wow. the pizza was SO filling. The large pizza was about the same size as pizza hut 's but they truly didnt skimp out on the cheese and the crust is thicker without being too overbearing. I also got the philly steak meat which I dont think pizza hut has and it was good. I ended up feeling satisfied with half as many slices. I got carryout and that seems to be significantly better than the other reviewers ' delivery orders and the store 's pricing is fairer than other local pizza places. This location 's underrated.
Haven't had papa John's in several years, for no reason other than I'm eating healthier. Had a cheat day and ordered a large thin crust pepperoni and extra cheese and it was way better than I had hoped for. Really gave me way more toppings and cheese than I felt I paid for. The pizza was worth more than I paid for it and with everything being so expensive these days, thats saying something
