Gaststatte Ratstube - Lenggries

Basic German, but very well done. Owner has some English, and even obliged us with a large bottle of ice water! Outdoor eating area in the summer is very pleasant. Location on the main street allows people watching while sipping a glass from a good wine list.

One of the best meals on our recent trip to Germany was at the Ratstube in the center of Lenggries. The owner/waiter was a friendly man that spoke limited English but did his best to explain various items on the menu. He even brought out a book containing a diagram of a cow in order to show us what cuts of meat would be used in certain dishes. Our meal began with a complimentary appetizer of a vegetable quiche and a glass of warm blood red orange juice (which sounds odd but it was very good). As my entree, I ordered the filet of pork which was wonderful and was served with a delicious mushroom cream sauce and homemade spaetzle. It was worth every single calorie! My husband got the grilled salmon which he enjoyed as well. The Ratstube's interior was charmingly decorated with knotted pine furnishings and red plaid fabric. In fact, if you didn't know better, you'd think you were in a cozy Alpine chalet. Awesome choice for a snowy winter's night!

We were only in the beer garden and got room for 4 people in the evening (at the best beer garden time). Beer garden in a very nice ambience, you feel comfortable. Operation quickly and friendly, and also ready for the Schnoke. Food very good, especially the scavenger Isarwinkel has tasted excellent. The schnapps served on a deer's consecration were also good. It was a very nice evening. Thank you, the four Saxony.

Very good kitchen. Perfect pickup for Corona times. Pick up, pick up, enjoy
