Le 80 - Les Allues

This is an old favourite, despite being a relatively new restaurant in Méribel. The ski season has just started, hence an early visit to a restaurant we might normally visit 5 or 6 times a season. Decor, ambience, and service still good and friendly. BUT WOW they have hiked their prices to the point where we will not be returning. This is now Michelin starred pricing in a Brasserie. That doesn’t work. They’ve changed the menu too, partly to create a buzz by allowing you to go to the kitchen window to see the red meat being prepared …. but at such an extreme cost per 100 grams no one is going to be doing that. Such a shame yes there has been food inflation, but this is food price explosion. One other small thing they need to regulate the heat in the restaurant too. It was way too warm, uncomfortable. The super friendly service cannot make up for the negative changes that have been introduced.

Very nice and accomodating staff. Very nice cuisine, very simple and familiar dishes that were elevated by the chefs of Le 80. Food was nicely seasoned and everything was in balance. The oysters could be checked for broken shell pieces before serving though. All in all very lovely expereince, definetly will recommend

Nous aimons revenir dans cet endroit magnifique, la décoration est superbe. Cependant, le rapport qualité-prix est excessif. Le DJ diffuse une musique un peu banale, apparemment les animations musicales en direct ont été supprimées. Nous avons pris l'apéritif au bar auparavant, et le serveur nous avait déjà apporté les menus pour choisir, malgré la faible affluence au restaurant.
