I ordered the dish with chicken and was surprised that I was served a dish with raw chicken meat and salad placed on the same dish. The raw chicken meat was served on the same plate which afterwards should be used for the salad and the grilled meat. Maybe I am a bit conservative, but this violates some basic rules on how raw chicken meat should be handled.
It’s not a place you would normally turn up to in full ski attire but on this day we got caught out by high winds and rain forcing us off the mountain. It’s an upmarket smallish restaurant serving a good selection of local and mountain style food. Cheese featured fairly high up on the menu but there were meat options too. The cozy modern wooden panelled restaurant is bright and airy and the head waiter albeit a little slow to initially engage with you is very friendly and happy to speak in English. We opted for the mushroom fondue with a side of charcuterie. It arrived and immediately we all put our forks in. We’ve tried many fondues and this if definitely up there as one of the better. Not too boozy as some are. We noticed the mushrooms were missing and the waiter was quick to take away the bowl and come back with the addition within 3 minutes which made it all the better. Average price for 2 adults and one child with a carafe of wine and bottle of water €64. Really worth a visit if you are in the area.
We came here with a group of 7 people on a weekday evening for dinner. It is important that you make a reservation in advance because the restaurant is not that big! The menu entails a wide choice of heart mountain dishes, several sorts of fondue (the fondue au cèpes is one I would recommend if ou like mushrooms), grill, raclette, all served with a compliment of side dishes. The prices for the food and drinks are reasonable. The restaurant is tidy, service is really friendly and quite quick. It has a cosy mointaignard feeling. Recommended when staying in Les Deux-Alpes!!
We ate here for dinner during skiing holidays. Friendly staff, cosy atmosphere. Typical local dishes including fondue, cheese fondue, barbecue (with charcoal BBQ on the table). Also some options for kids.
Wonderful cheese and meats selection cooked on a BBQ at the table. Great choice of wines and beers. And a blanket to keep warm.
