We stayed here to visit this restaurant. I can see why there are so different reviews from the previous reviewers, it is very idiosyncratic, they will either love or hate it. very small, very French (also correct), hotel atmosphere. room for only 6-8 tables, decorated with Nick-Nacks. only 2 menus and 10 € children's menu. our teens were only at a choice between bark meat or escape, and they were fled from koks. both menus (Terrine/Pave de boeuf or foie gras/confit de canard) were good to follow before the garlic soup and with cheese and nutcake. service I think inexperienced helper was in the night when we went, as they had no idea how to adapt their very fast French to slower listeners and didted, if we couldn't do our thoughts, and didted again when we asked for wein while serving the suppe. it is certainly home cooking, in an unusual atmosphere. fits on the wooden baby chair, I think it is uncertain! location is beautiful, deep in the wooded valley of les eyzies. they must be reserved if they want to try, several people were turned away when we were there.
Informal country inn, quite remote. We ate in a pretty garden, all very laid back. No choice at all on the euro menu, food arrived in large pots/dishes to help ourselves
We were staying near here so decided to chance this restaurant. I can see why it got such differing reviews from the previous reviewers, it is very idiosyncratic, you will either love or hate it. Very small, very French (quite right too), hotel atmosphere. Dining...room for only tables, decorated with nick-nacks. Only menus, and a child menu. Our teenagers were aghast at only a choice between beef or duck, and they had run out of coke. However both menus (terrine/pave de boeuf or foie gras/confit de canard) were good, preceded by garlic soup and with cheese and walnut cake to follow. Service I think inexperienced helper was on the night we went as she had no idea how to adapt her very quick French to slower listeners and tutted when we could not make up our minds, and tutted again when we asked for wine while she was serving the soup. it is certainly home cooking, in an unusual atmosphere. Watch out for the wooden baby chair, I think it is unsafe! Situation is lovely, deep in the wooded valley up from Les Eyzies. You need to reserve if you want to try it, several people were turned away when we were there
Excellent welcome, we feel in the family. The first menu is hearty and delicious. The sparkling accompanies the dishes perfectly. The Isabelle boss will also give you valuable advice for your visits to the region. She recognizes the hosts of glycines.
