The mussels which followed were large and well-filled, but unfortunately not hot enough, and were accompanied by tepid and soggy chips, without any salt, for which we had to ask at the bar. When we complained (politely) about the chips the proprietor, when appealed to by the waiter for his authorization to deduct the charge from the bill, refused and in a truculent manner insisted that the chips were not as served in MacDonalds but were home-made. Better in that case NOT to order the frîtes with the moules! Service friendly, but slow, and good appetising olives and pickled squid served with the apéritif.
One of the best meals I have ever had in France! Any set menu that offers half a crab as a starter, among a wide array of dishes, is worth a detour. This spot is in a unique location and serves the freshest sea food with relaxed style. Busy with locals always a great sign. €22.50 for three courses with a wide choice. Speciaity is the deep fried 'Joels ' tiny whole fish. Scrumptious.
Great place in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful walk on the beach nearby. Les Moutiers en Retz is one of the most pretty village in the area.
This place is a regular one our visitors ask for as it does regional food as well as standard French food. Very good value, good service. Great for people or landscape watching!
Nice view on the canal and the boats, the decor is very typical and original the choice of limited fish on the map but rather nice map in the package not very good and not frozen what is appreciable personnel quite friendly just small flat on the reception since the accustomed to the restaurant are better treated than the new ones I recommend in any case to spend a good time
