The drinks at this bar were fantastic. One small recommendation would be to put a sign halfway up the hill to guide customers in the right direction. We were pleasantly surprised to discover this hidden gem.
I have to say, as soon as we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted warmly. The food was fantastic and the staff was outstanding. The locals were friendly and chatted with us. There was a talented young musician playing on the outdoor patio, which was a great added touch. The staff even arranged for our ride home at the end of the night. This restaurant is a real hidden gem and I highly recommend stopping by if you have the opportunity.
We came over a sign for mccarrys bar on the way to dunfanaghy. google, a bit confusion that a mcgarrys pub in the states and a unpacked dunfanaghy saw us back to mccarry’s we were glad that we made it! mccarry is out of the beaten way and if you think it can’t be so far out there! the bar to enter is like the visit of her aunt, it is cozy, warm and welcoming. we visited on Thursday at approx. 5.00 o'clock (continuation, what google tells them, they were open on Thursday). the menu had the usual crowd gifts, one of our party decided for the chili chicken served with chips, two of us had the tagliatelle, one of which was prepared as a vegetarian option. the food was fresh, delicious and we enjoyed it very much. the personal was friendly and efficient and the bill was appropriate. mccarry filled up when we were gone, which led us to our new discovery being a well maintained local secret!
