Leucate looked interesting from the map on my cars navigation system and so we just turned off the main auto-route to explore further. It was a sleepy Friday lunchtime we were surprised to see how quiet everything was. La Voile Blanche is right on the sea front and we were able to park in front of the place for a small, reasonable fee (another surprise! . The restaurant has a large outside terrace and my son I were greeted warmly by a young lady who directed us away from a reasonably sized table for 4 persons to one for a couple. It seems that in France, even if a restaurant is almost empty you are forbidden to sit at a table set out for more people than in your party. Whatever. It being a seaside resort I was drawn to the mussels in a blue Roquefort cheese sauce which was delicious. The sauce was unbelievable and got all mopped up by the crusty French bread rolls. My son had a pizza margharita which met his fussy approval. All in all the experience was pleasant enough. Service was friendly although one of the waitresses seemed cautious and thus aloof at my attempts to converse with her in French.
A change of ownership has been good for La Voile Blanche. The menu is better, the service friendly and the food worth stopping in to try. The location is at Leucate Plage and this restaurant is excellent for a break from the sun for an hour or so. It is a nice alternative to the other restaurants grouped around it and will see us return every time we're in the area.
Good and copyy salads. We were, however, scammed because we paid a fried steak 12€ for a 2-year-old child while the child menu at 10€90 (fashioned orange steak fried ice cream) seemed too rich for this little mouth. After information, the price is due to the fact that we were entitled to a large plate than in the menu...search error. Of course the manager who took the order sent us the young server to explain this.So disappointed and understanding a little better the tense atmosphere that he seemed to reign that day.
We went to this place without knowing and frankly after a good twenty minutes of waiting without anything happening, my companion was seen at the bar if it was possible to be served. What indifference. impossible to have a map of what was proposed. We wanted to taste a good ice and there the waiter the boss I don't know... finally ahead of us by pretexting being overwhelmed while the few people present were already served and we expected someone to serve us well. too painful without any friendliness and no desire to serve and do serious work. we were too visibly and without wanting to serve as well and that an hour had just passed. and then we finally had our two unfortunate ice balls served without anything at the level accompaniment and decor. Too bad...FRANCHEMENT too bad without any professionalism they must frankly revert to another profession as soon as possible. But are they able to? Too expensive for what was served...A very moderate politeness.
The restaurant is called a beach tile. I went there with a friend. My friend wanted a mojito in my place of coffee in gourmet coffee. no small move on one of the 2 benefits. We ate tapas. an addition idea 75 euros to 2. It doesn't revolutionize anything like that. the staff is nice and dynamic. Cocktails are good. .. quiet atmosphere. It's not going off.
