Anyone who appreciates fresh, small/medium/large oysters, with a wonderful fragrance and slightly salty taste, will not want to miss this relatively small restaurant with a great little terrace behind, facing the water, the watermen and their boats. Hard to put down the oysters to take photos, but sometimes the activity and atmosphere is just too photogenic to pass up. Nothing fancy here, but that is its charm it is real. Have eaten here several times before this review and will continue to do so whenever within 60 km of the area.
Lovely terras on the back, lovely fresh oysters and palourdes, shame about the owner who seemed very agitated, politeness doesn't cost a thing.
We walked down the beach from the centre of Leucate Plage for about half an hour, to the Oyster Village. Boats pull up at the back of the little restaurants and heap their bounty directly on to your plats de fruits de mer. We had a formule of oysters and amazingly tasty crevettes, brown bread and butter and a glass of Picpoul de Pinet. Then a bottle just to be sociable. The bill was €26. This is one of the few restaurants with a terrace at the back,so that you can eat overlooking the water. Friendly, helpful staff. Fresh seafood. A pearl of a find!
